After alot of umming and ahhing and saving, I picked my JM Jag up on Saturday

:-* :-* :-*

What a great guitar. Them bare knuckle pickups are exceptional.

I just need one more semi hollow "335-esque" guitar and I'm done... .

@five: What different lining? I got the blue lining in mine.

I've seen on with the more "Poodle" inside, and others with the standard "Felt" type blue lining. Any rhyme or reason here?
The poodle one was designed to Johnny's specs and is even mentioned in the manual as one of the features. I believe due to cost issues the more plain one came with later runs. Not sure if there is a way to tell which ones got it based on serial number or what.

The silver with blue poodle is very much like a Rickenbacker case color scheme, pretty cool.

So, I just recently played one of these for the first time. What a nice guitar. Besides that.. for those of you who haven't seen the Knock Out Orange.. wow is that a really cool color! It's got a lot of depth to it, really dark in some light, and blinding bright in others. I saw it from all the way across the store, and almost ran to see what it was. Very nice!

Question for other Marrguar owners:

Has anyone had the staytrem trem.... err stop staying?

With all this sherwood green talk I was playing the marrguar tonight and the staytrem just started swaying around.... Admittedly it's been a bit of a case queen (with bar installed) this winter but I have never had a problem before.

Are you sure it's pushed in all the way?

No problems with my stay-trem. The JM has been my primary player since I bought it a couple years ago. I do use the trem, but it seems to have the same amount of play as when I first got it.

Yep... Took it out and re-set it. Its flopping around like a bad goalie....

I'll take it off at next string change and see what's going on down there. Its not like like replacing it for $50 is going to kill me but its a surprise since it was actually designed to ... not flop around like this. I have 2 others and no problem there.

Anyway - On a related note: Anyone have any experience with a fender warranty?

Is the arm spinning inside the collet or is the whole collet rotating? I had trouble with the trem arm flopping when I first got mine. At first I was disappointed that the arm wasn't being held securely, but on closer inspection i saw that the whole unit was turning. The straytrem l had simply come loose in shipping and needed to be tightened back into the trem plate.

Yeah you might just need to tighten the bolt on the collet, that should stop if flopping around.
Cheers

I'd have 2 agree with that, boring and sad..... [It's like my grandad became a hipster, died his hair black and stood around in tight pants playing elevator music on nice old guitars....Sad ] marr-cissist indeed. How soon is death, not long Johnny not long...

Wall of posing old git here : http://marr-cissist.tumblr.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyone still gonna keep his signature guitar on the guitar if u own one of these? I know I wouldn't....

Yikes, I was referring to the guitar, not the player. Les Pauls are fine instruments I'm sure, but they absolutely bore me to tears.

Johnny Fookin' Marr, on the other hand, is a genius. I'll have no part in a discussion that suggests otherwise.
