That's what I thought - 22lbs is excessive seeing as my MIM Jazz bass only weighs about 20lbs when it's in its flightcase!

22lbs seems an exaggeration to be honest.
rd's are lovely-sounding basses but have massive necks...i've played a couple and found them totally off-putting cos of this.

Re: Looking at basses..
my bandmate had one of these for a few years (although his was black and had rosewood or ebony board), and it was a great instrument. it played like a dream and had the sustain of a grand piano. but he didn't really like the pickups, so he sold it a couple of years ago.

Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

I wish that logo would have caught on more. I like it 100 times better than the custom logo

Re: Looking at basses..
My good friend and guitarist (Dave) is a huge RD freak. A friend of ours who plays in one of his other bands slings a natural RD exactly like that one.
It IS a heavy beast! Not 22 lbs (ha ha ha!), but if he told me it was 15, I wouldn't balk.
This is from the same show at JAXX here outside of DC:
