Budget Speaker Options?

I just picked up this cool old 68 bassman cab to match up with my bandmaster reverb....the original speakers are shot. I need to replace them, and right now weber alnico signature 12s seem like a decent option...i want to get some nice break up at a fairly reasonable volume.

The RI Jensen 12"s aren't bad imo. I use the even Cheaper Chicago series 12" with my tremolux. Pretty decant ones. Less then $70 a pair.
But there are other great budget speakers out there as well.

Most speakers will sound good in the huge cab imo

If you like the British flavor Warehouse Speakers has really inexpensive options and the amp forums seem to rave about them.

The Weber signature series are pretty inexpensive too and the two 10's I have sound pretty good to me.

I had an alnico Weber Sig 12 in a brown Deluxe and I was very happy with it.  Not sure that you can beat those for the money.

+1 on the Weber Signatures.  I'm quite happy with the ceramic 10's in my BMR combo, and ceramic 12" in my Princeton Reverb.  You can't beat them in terms of tone-per-dollar.

with a big-cab bandmaster, you could fit 50 10" speakers in there...

oxfords....i might get them reconed eventually, but the only place in town charges 65 a piece and i hear the oxfords are kinda farty.


i ended up getting a deal on a weber 12f150 and a 12a125...we'll see how it sounds....never mixed alnico and ceramic before.
