All right, I've done both!!
Put a bigsby on any damn thing you want! Somebody out there will think it's cool...

One more guitar, then I'll practice!

No doubt a bigsby would sound nice on a strat with the smooth tremolo, but If it were tremolo quality that I wanted I would go for a Jag/JM tremolo instead.
But of course it is all a matter of choice.
I dont really like Bigsbys, although they look nice. They just don't give enough tremolo swing for me. The JM/Jag tremolo is the best I've heard and I believe cannot be beat.
I also like the strat trem as is, even if it isnt very exciting to look at.
As far as looks I'd rather see a Bigsby on a bulkier or bigger guitar like a tele or a Les Paul or an ES335.
Let me know how the bigsby sounds on the strat if you ever put one on.

+1 On the JM/Jag trem. It's my favorite on all the ones I've tried and I think I've tried most of them!
One more guitar, then I'll practice!

How about a Floyd Rose on a Les Paul?
Because, I personaly hate Floyd Roses, I think they should be put into boxes and buried..
But a Bigsby on a paul is ok.. I dont think Les Paul would object

I forgot that Les Paul had a bigsby on his guitar.
Hey how come Les Paul has more hair on his head than I do?
Damn him!

Implying that a Bigsby is not a tremolo is like implying that a Mac is not a PC.
(The proper term is "vibrato" anyway...)

Oh, I don't think anyone puts a vibrator on their guitar.
Anyway, I have a bigsby on my Schecter Ultra III and I do love the guitar, but the bigsby is both a pain in the ass to change strings on, and the spring on it is not stiff enough to get enough vibrato swing.
I wonder if you can get different length -stiffness springs for a bigsby?

I stand corrected once more. It seems you can find anything on the internet and someone has done it somewhere.
