It literally leaves sticky residue on yr fretting hand when you play it. I wiped it down for a solid 10 minutes thinking it would help a little but that did nothing. Trying to slide yr hand down the neck hurts because the finish is so spackled it resists forward/backward motion.

It's not mine it's my buddy's and it's not something you can really see anyway but I know I've seen people talk about the process of doing a couple quick wipes with some fine grit, I just wanted to confirm that what I planned on doing was ok. I mean I guess I can just take it a swipe at a time and see how it goes, right? Like I said I feel like long, one direction swipes should be ok/is what I remember people talking about doing.

If the grit is fine enough and assuming a light sanding is all occurs, you should be fine. Should be able to buff the finish back to a shine using a quality rubbing compound and polish.Mechanical Birds wrote:It's not mine it's my buddy's and it's not something you can really see anyway but I know I've seen people talk about the process of doing a couple quick wipes with some fine grit, I just wanted to confirm that what I planned on doing was ok. No problems at all with my sherwood Marrguar. Some finish chipping along with wear from use.

I'd put the sandpaper away and go at it (gently) with some fine (0000) steel wool to dull the finish slightly.
It sounds like the nitro just needs to cure a bit more which isn't uncommon.

Yeah that's all it isn't like a huge mess, just feels furry and real uncomfortable to play.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
I did a quick search in this thread and saw Taylor Swift's use of the Marr Jag mentioned a few times but didn't come across this fantastic solo performance of her rocking it. So hopefully I didn't miss it, I think it's a fairly new video.

Both the Jaguar and her sound just lovely! I would not be against seeing a lot more of this stripped down, solo electric style from her. I'm a big fan though, ymmv.

She is a talented person and it's cool to see a Jaguar in the "mainstream".

That was great. Somebody definitely doesn't need any auto tune. Not really a fan of the pop genre, but I can't dislike TS.WonderCouncil wrote:I did a quick search in this thread and saw Taylor Swift's use of the Marr Jag mentioned a few times but didn't come across this fantastic solo performance of her rocking it. Fender's Facebook site posted this pic of a Johnny Marr Jaguar in Black on Feb 28th.
Could this be a preview of a new limited edition colour?

I've noticed he's been using a black jag for a few songs recently, so yeah, maybe a ltd edition!

I would say so. The guitar in the photo hasn't been set up to play and Mr Marr's been playing a black one for a few months, so I'd say that isn't THE one JM is touring.JazzmasterJonny wrote:That there is stunning!Musjagjazz wrote:Fender's Facebook site posted this pic of a Johnny Marr Jaguar in Black on Feb 28th.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
I actually think it is. That picture was on Instagram a while ago when it was ready to be shipped to Johnny. Johnny had one of his white sig Jags re sprayed black with a black guard, but he's been using this one with the tort for a few songs since he got it.
I heard Fender were going to release this as a limited edition but how accurate that is I can't confirm.
