Perfecto! In this case, I think black > mint. But I guess I feel that way pretty much all of the time.gutter rock wrote:Thanks for all the love! I know the mint/white guard crowd doesn't approve but I gotta do my thing! Black is the new tort!

I hate music, sometimes I don't.
I hate music, it's got too many notes.

Dammit! You made me contact Danocaster for a black pickguard for my IBM Dano Jazzblaster. Very hot!

I think it is pretty accurate. It is so hard to photograph, but my first impression after opening the case the first time was that it was more blue than I remembered OTM. Thanks for that thread Mekhem, it really highlights my thinking and makes me feel like my theory may be true!mekhem wrote:I didnt want to threadjack GutterRocks black out...blackbox wrote:I love how blue the finish looks in these photos. I am pretty sure the pickguard came from WD music. They do good work and I have bought several from them.spaceman spiff wrote:That looks amazing!

YES! I am building a little black guard army! Seriously, I think a black guard on ice blue is about the best combo ever.

^^^^^ adding to Fender's recent color shade-bending antics... this is actually the new Firemist Silver. i always wanted a true Fender Jazzmaster in IBM with original matching headstock... well they really came through wit this FS!
as i stated elsewhere, i wonder if Fender arrived at these latest blue/silver shades in anticipation of them yellowing into a greener tone that we all will recognize.
oh - and congrats - another absolute beauty!

Wow, I would have bet money that was IBM. Either way, it is beautiful! I would guess if either of these guitars yellowed a bit then for sure they would be closer to what we expect out of these two colors.46346 wrote:^^^^^ adding to Fender's recent color shade-bending antics... this is actually the new Firemist Silver. i always wanted a true Fender Jazzmaster in IBM with original matching headstock... well they really came through wit this FS!

^^^ yeah, that's the 'IBM angle' in that foto.
i think Firemist Silver may be the most chameleonic of the reissue finishes. pretty fun.
check out the different shadings from my mod thread:

are you noticing changes on yours from indoors vs. outdoors, camera angle, etc.?
(Hint... MOAR FOTOS!!)

Has anyone besides me went to the Wildwood site and added one of these to your cart just to do a little dreaming?
