The best part about these inexpensive guitars is you can mod them out the ass and not feel gutted when you're through...

im in between projects right now on a 97 MIM squier strat.  Im having the neck tinted and poly-ed.  and a new pickguard is being made ala' richie blackmoor for it.

Image

its going to be the same color as the backplate here. kind of a cremey parchmant color (on black)  and heres the neck next to a JS neck for color compararison.

Image

it started out as a wimpey little pale maple color.  its going to look amazing.

anyways after i get this back from robertOG i will start tinkering with the bullet

i wasn't very impressed by that, although i can imagine it's more interesting when the guitars are still more or less in one piece. cause let's face it, once the neck and strings are gone you're basically just banging a microphone.

Hey, I didn't intend any disrespect, I'm genuinely interested in what it plays and sounds like and you didn't mention that to start with. By "project" I meant - like a CIJ JM, nearly everyone feels the need to mod those as soon as they get them and they're plenty cool.

One of my favourite guitars was even cheaper than yours .. an old Eko acoustic 12-string someone gave me for free. The frets are shot and the bridge is lifting but it sounds great and plays OK as it is so I think it'll be great once it's sorted out. I can't see myself paying for a professional refret on it so I guess I get to start my refretting career on a bound neck ..

Its not impressive at all! I think its impressive to get state funds to buy new guitars for every show. Harshnoise is art in norway, at least the norwegian powerstate thinks so.

Thought that was awesome. Love the guy "playing" the black strat. He's getting some good stuff out of that  :)

THE 50 DOLLAR BULLET IS BACK!!!!!

FUCK THA HATERS!!!!  HAHAHA

i got the idea in my head that i could make this into the strat used in the video for the sweater song by weezer waaaaaaaay back in the day.  its kinda the first thing that turned me onto all these pussyass color guitars that i own.

so i got to work.

first i made a mockup.  threw out the 5 way and put in a 3way toggle, throw out the tone knobs and put in two dedicated volume knobs.  this isn't exactly like the =w= guitar but I like my guitars wired like my supersonic was.

Image

tore mine apart
Image

had rob(og) make me a new pickguard from scratch without a 5way slot
Image

got it on and started going crazy with teh sharpie
Image
Image

cut the thing all up
Image
Image

slapped on parts that i have laying around from my other 03948230984230984 projects
Image
moc up

screwed in

i await the attacks...

i still need to get something like this off of ebay

Image

the bridge pickup in it right now is from a squier 51.

thinking about taking the VOL out of my 51 because its a push pull and rig this up with what it was designed to do.

so then the electronics would be
VOL
Toggle
PushPull VOL split
