Hey Jazzprod, nice score.  It looks in pretty good shape.  Let us know how it sounds when you get it (man, the waiting is always the hard part).

lovely amp.  It does look to be a bit modded (logo and grille cloth -- lord, I'm turning into "cranky fender guy"  Please forgive me).

Don't worry, though, it's still well worth the money if it sounds good.  (heck my bandmaster was way hotrodded and thrashed when I got it -- still one of my favorite amps ever).

Jumping channels is a great trick.  Also, you can use a "normal" footswich if you can find a 1/4" to rca adapter (a couple bucks at radio shack in the U.S.).

Enjoy.

for those talking about jumpering channels, be aware that the two channels on this amp (and most blackface amps) are of opposite polarity (in parlance commonly known as "out of phase") and so rather than getting double the input gain, you may actually get less.  Also, volume controls will null each other out more the closer they are together.  If both are set on 10 it will be quieter than if one is set on 9 and the other is set on 2.

Jumpering works best with tweed Fenders and certain marshalls.

Still no harm in playing with it though.  You may play around and get some cool tones akin to the 'in between' positions on a strat's pickup selector.

I always thought that the out-of-phase thing happens on the twin channel amps that have reverb (twin, super, deluxe reverb etc)

....my Tremolux doesn't sound out-of-phase when I jumper it...  ???

It's funny you'd mention Bandmasters...I just bought a BF Bandmaster with the intent of it being CLEAN sounding!!    :D

What's wrong w/ the logo?  You're talking about Jazzprod's amp, right?
I'm assuming the blue thread in the grillcloth is what's incorrect about it...

I have never tried jumpering a tremolux personally, but since it is the same AA763 or AB763 circuit as my 1965 non-reverb Deluxe, I'm almost certain that the channels will be of opposite polarity.  The effect can be subtle; try it and tweak the volume controls around and see if you can find a spot where it sounds out-of-phase.

As I said my non-reverb Deluxe has the opposite-polarity thing going on as does my brownface 6G4-A Super-amp.

Scuse me for being daft, but this jumpering thing got me curious!

Are the inputs of a SF twin in reverse polarity too?

I jumped channels on my '64 tremolux a few times. Gives more control. Mostly use the no. 1 input of the vibrato channel and jumper from the no.1 normal channel to the no.2 of the vibrato. Gives a bit of a thicker sound. Never tried it with pedals though. I'm not even aware of the "reverse polarity" of the channels. Mine is an AB 763.
