I think we have reached peak offset.
The affinity and bullet range are the most affordable guitars that Squier offer at the bottom end of the price scale. This is mass market.
Thats why (apart from the fancy gold pick guard) they are all safe designs. Red, white, black, blue.
May the Fuzz be with you

Is there actually any indication that I've missed that Squier is going to let go of the VM and signature series? They still all appear next to the new models on every website, and this seems more like extending the price and product range downwards than replacing the previous ones.

I'm excited for these new Squier Models. Particularly the baritone and the red hardtail JM. But its going to be difficult to beat the Sterling SR50 Stingray that I bought last year. Thats a hell of a guitar...

This Mustang just popped up on Ebay

They are all on there. (Bit pricey though, for Australians)

I'm getting the black mustang. Couldn't care about the rest. I just want a little throw around guitar for practicing. And a mustang under $200 fits the bill there. Might modify it over time, who knows. Cheap enough to actually do mods to on a bargain. I'd probably refinish the neck to a gloss and swap the bridge out for a musicmaster and new guard and pickups.

had a look at these in person yesterday. the finish looks good for the money on them all- especially the deluxe jazzmasters. The mustang bullet body is even thinner than a normal mustang.......! look great though mojo wise.

I just came across the first listing I've seen for the Black Baritone JM. The specs seem a little different than the Antigua one, specifically the different looking bridge and the fact that this one is listed as having an Alder body while the Antigua is Basswood. I'm not sure if that's a typo or not, but that's an interesting wrinkle if it's true.

Why does the baritone JM have that bulbous growth on the pickguard? If they just used a JM-shaped pickguard, it would look a lot cooler IMO.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

The bridge is the same on both, just chrome on the Antigua and black on black. Apart from everything being black, the biggest difference I see is no binding on the fretboard.

just bought the deluxe jazzmaster hardtail for $359.00, waiting for it to be shipped. I'll post pics and a video when it shows up. If it's anywhere as close to as good as the JMJM is than I'll be very pleased
I'm pretty bad at most things
