With the appropriate skills one could. I wouldn't recommend it. I think you'd be better off just buying a Squier VM Mustang.

Here's a Mustang body -

I just meant if someone wanted a HH Mustang with the Mustang trem, it would theoretically be possible to mod it that way. ;)

Imo +1 on probably being easier to rout new pickup routs on a vm than new trem holes on a bullet

Someone on shortscale is putting a jm trem on theirs (honestly thinking about buying one to do this as well) and apparently the body isnt thick enough so he just drilled straight through and is gonna put a plate on the back. Not sure if that would be a consideration for the stang trem though

Good point. These Bullet Mustang bodies are only 35mm thick.

I love my Mascis, having it in red with tort guard, and white covers etc, would be even better!
can confirm! it has the mascis neck and pickups

so weird that they advertise them as 24.75 because honestly that's one of the main things that put me off them
Same here. I am really glad it is 24". Another difference is the nut width is closer to 41mm and not the 42mm in the specs. I do like the guitar a lot though. Super light and comfortable to play. Mine is 2.9kg.

I'll be installing a set of white button Klusons this weekend.
Are the below Mustang fretboard specs correct? Does it feel more like 9.5 or smaller frets?

12”-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets

Just found a video of the Squier Bullet Mustang. Wish he showed more the clean sound, though.

Still deciding if I should buy one as a backup of the Epiphone Crestwood I use live. It's small and light so it would be easy to carry it, but don't know if the sound is going to be similar...

I just saw a picture of the mustang body and it seems like it has a swimming pool rout, could be a great option for mods.

Also, all the stock pictures I have seen of the Jazzmaster looks like it has a top mount bridge, but I have since seen a few pictures of it from online stores and it looks to have a through body bridge.

pics i have seen on ebay (below) show thru-body stringing with ferrules at rear. no skunk stripe on neck.

i wonder if the bodies are a thinner version like the mustangs. specs for range online seem to be hit & miss. eg mustang not listed as 24 scale lots of places. i called gak uk to doublecheck jm scale & they say it is 25.5 like jm, not 24 like a jag. but still only half convinced. also not sure about that angled heel, though it could be filed curved i spose. & is the neck thin? i have lady hands (go with my lady body) so i can't do fat necks. let it be slim.
also think it's weird (& bit annoying, since i want the jm) that price diference between affinity stang & jm is £70 whereas price diff between vm stang & vm jm is about £10. plus you get skunk stripe & shiny shit for controls on the stang. but ultimately both a decent deal whatever.

so anyway kinda holding off until i see some decent pics from 'real people' rather than shops. which is why i joined up tonight.
legend has it that real people come here. balance of probabilities, if not beyond reasonable doubt.

hi i'm vale btw.
thought about doing a dedicated intro thread but seems overkill just to say hi.
& i talk to much about myself anyway

update.

fendercom has a page with decent pics at last.
spec gives bodyshape as 'jagmaster(tm)'. read into that what you will re differences to standard jm.

Welcome to the forum.

Err ... I'm no expert, as will soon be apparent ... but surely a Jazzmaster with a Jagmaster body is a Jagmaster??

Presumably some confection of the Fender marketing department for a guitar with an offset body that isn't a Jag or a JM.

this whole squier specs have been a shit show, fender really dropped the ball on that
waiting for my return, gonna pick up either the blue stang or the white jazz/jagmaster???
so weird, i wonder if its actually 25.5 or 24 like the jagmaster 2
id be interested to see if it is the actual jagmaster shape, or just marketing bullshit

Man I kind of want one of these for mods. Cut off Tele bridge, WRHB? Match the headstock?

I thought the Jagmasters were originally made out of Fender Japanese parts so the bodies were actually spare Jaguar bodies routed with a stratocaster bridge?

Anyway, I totally agree with you about the specs, it looks like it's a full scale- the Jagmaster 1 was 24 and the Jagmaster 2 was 25.5 and it looks more like the Jagmaster 2... Or, it could have a conversion neck like the Jagmaster 3 which would make it 24.75!
