That's a really cool project but why mount the trem so far from the bridge? Not only does it throw off the visual balance, it gives you a chance to increase the break angle some without the tone sucking buzzstop.

Yeah, other than that it looks great. I would have gone with a white plastic pickup mounting ring on that bridge pickup and maybe a Jazzy headstock profile, but I'd rock it the way it is no less.

I kind of thought it looked a little awkward, too. Still, it's a cool build.

It might have been put back that far so the tremolo arm would be where the picking hand could reach it. It would look funny if it stuck out past the neck pickup. I think it looks cool. I could put it in my music room with no problem.

It looks to me like the vibrato is the exact same distance from the bridge as it is on a Jazzmaster, which makes sense.
I think you're seeing it as "far away" because a JM has a longer butt than a Tele.
