I thought about this when BilT rewired mine for three pickups. Using the rhythm circuit slide as a selector works nicely if you want to have that pickup isolated in its own circuit when it's on. An alternative is adding a second 3-way slide or toggle, which allows mixing in the middle pickup, excluding it, or isolating it. One of the Faction Electric plates has dual 3-way slide switches on the rhythm plate; that could lead to some interesting uses in a three pickup Zaftig since the second slider could be used for a combination of options (series/parallel, reverse polarity, eq filtering).DesmondWafers wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 12:25 amThat zaftig looks great. What's the wiring like on it? If I had one of those, it'd be cool to have the 3 way act like a normal JM with the rhythm circuit engaging the jag pickup.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love some vid and/or sound clips of this beast if there are any!

I need a Bilt. No matter what weird guitars I try and aquire... the jazzmaster is always my favorite, but I don't like repping the same ol' Fender guitars. It's boring!
I think a Bilt would be perfect. Still very unique and can have jazzmaster innards.

Re: Bilt guitars??

Here’s mine, had it for a year now. Lollar firebird and JM pickups with a ”hidden” piezo in the trem cavity, controlled by the upper horn controls.
Best guitar I’ve ever had, sounds and plays great, very expressive! Only negative thing is that I kinda feel like the finish dings easily.

Love these green ones!
Just noting that this thread did nothing for acquisitional resistance awhile back when a Zaftig that I had seen being built in the duskiest shade of LPB showed up for a decent price on Reverb. It's in the catch-and-release slot, but it's the best playing and sounding BilT I've had, so maybe I'll keep it around

This was the closest I found to a dedicated thread so...
Curious for Bilt owners - have you ever sent yr guitar back to them for mods/adjustments? I’ve definitely seen people mention that being a thing when someone has talked about buying a used one or something, which is exactly why I’m asking. I know I could reach out to them but it’s not even for sure a thing yet.
Looking at a guitar that’s a Relevator LS and if this kind of service is something they offer, then I’m interested in getting it converted into an actual Relevator. I know their routes are swimming pools, seemingly with this very concept in mind. I’m mainly curious about pricing/if they will keep pickups/guards sent to them for some kinda small discount on the work you commission to have things changed
Thanks in advance

Only way to find out is to ask them directly. I remember hearing that they have modded some of their guitars, but no idea about the pricing. What are you thinking to get modded?Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 11:51 pmThis was the closest I found to a dedicated thread so...

This one is mine

I'm actually thinking to have mine modded, but since I don't live in states, the shipping back and forth would be too expensive. I will probably have the changes made by some talented luthier here in Finland. I'm thinking of getting new pickups on this. Strongest contenders are now 2 or 3 TV jones style or other option would be 2 oe 3 P90s. Now the combination of things in this guitar makes this to be too close tonally feel wise to my Novo Serus J with Lollar Imperials.

Re: Bilt guitars??
They’ve done a fair bit of reconfiguring for customers in the past, including me. I’m not certain about a full conversion though. It’s definitely worth sending a message about, but having those effects on a board is probably more practical and cost effective. I think the main advantage of having effects on the guitar would be manipulation while playing, but the expression control on many circuits makes this relatively feasible even with pedals.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 11:51 pmThis was the closest I found to a dedicated thread so...

Re: Bilt guitars??
I personally am not fan of the pickguard. I traded my Fano GF6 for this so it is not specced by me. The pickups are Curtis Novak gold foils.. There are only few Fender CS Marauder videos where they use these so they are quite rare and difficult to find any info.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:27 amThat is HOTKihtaristi wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 2:59 amThis one is mine

I love the guard instead of the metal plates (though I DO love the plates). It's very reminiscent of a P-Bass in my opinion. What are the pickups in it? They look like Roadhouse.
