For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

with 3 humbuckers I think.
Sadly this talented young man died today of his retinal blastoma that blinded him at birth.

Kind of renders a lot of gear related websites useless, doesn't it? (Not this one though!)
You aren't going to sound like BB King if you buy "Lucille" or Clapton (whywould you?) buying "Blackie".
It's all in the player.
I watched this awesome documentary on the Mississippi Hill Bluesmen called "You See Me Laughin" and these guys where playing the shittiest equipment...Peavey Predator or something though Solid State amps and it STILL SOUNDED AMAZING.
I was born with a plastic spoon in my mouth.

Of course you are entirely right.

I like to draw - always have since I was a kid.
My drawings were pretty good - some people thought they were very good.
I used nothing but a number two pencil and typing paper.
Well, once in a while a number one pencil if I wanted to make a bolder statement.

It isnt the tools -  it is the skill always.

I have some really great guitars and my playing is eh... Sounds only good to me.. and only  sometimes.

Well, Jimi used straight-out-of-the-box CBS strats, and when Clapton et al started buying Les Pauls in the mid 60s, they weren't "vintage" they were second-hand 5 year old guitars.

George Harrison had a squire strat too. It sold for $30,000 recently. So much for resale value!

Wasn't Jeff Healy in the house band in the (great) movie "Roadhouse"?

Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Roadhouse was awesome, but terribly sad news about Healey  :(
