It is really amazing how different people view combinations of colour...
For example in the fashion industry there is a saying "green and blue should not be seen together unless there is another colour between" ie. do not put blue and green next to each other.
Likewise when ever I see any red or any blue colour with a tort guard, it just looks wrong to me (and I can only bear them on sunburst J basses, P basses , JMs or Jags.... never on strats or teles)
Yet as these pages have shown many like the tort guard on red guitars or blues guitars ... everybody has a slightly different perspective on colours .. and isn't that great

relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

Sonic Blue. I GOTTA dig up pics of the day broCMatthes and I went gittar huntin' in these parts. For under $1500, he walked away w/a '53 Goldtop and a '66 Jag in sonic blue...
I'll scan and post 'em as soon as I turn 'em up.

no green and blue? I guess those crooked bastards at Sacks 5th Ave. mustve had a long hard laugh about the trick they played one me selling the blue and green shirt that had been hand woven in japan. Oh, but actually, it only looked bllue and green, it was really finely woven blue and yellow. So thats ok, right?

I picked Candy Apple Red, but as I see nobody has picked sunburst yet, I'll take that one, besides, it matches my current Jag, save for the mute. Olympic white would have been my third choice, if only for the blocks and binding.

Ack. I didn't realize that blue (daphne in this case) and tort didn't look good together
Now what am I going to do with her?

I'm a reasonable man get off my case...

Ahhhh! Daphne Blue!!! I wanted one in Daph so bad, but you can't find em anywhere so I settled with my second choice; Sea Foam Green

i'm going to roll with sookwinder on this one...not a fan of tort on any of the blues or reds, although zhivago has shown a fiesta or two that i could almost go for, but never on blue...even lala's!
but like he said, it's great we all have different perspectives!
i do think tort looks pretty killer on surf green though...and sherwood.

fiesta red is easily my favorite red... been thinking of making a dots and binding partsmaster with a matching headstock... its got a nice mellow quality to the color.

Guess I am in the minority here... my favorite is always Candy Apple Red, except maybe for Dakota Red, which I might like even better, but is not among those pictured here unfortunately. I have to admit that the Burgundy Mist guitar looks also pretty cool , especially with the mint green pickguard.
