As it turns out, the left speaker has ceased to produce sound. Same for the left speaker of my headphones when I plug them in.

I had this fixed a couple months ago, and now it's doing it again. What. The. Fuck. I'm really starting to regret this purchase. Goddammit.

how often do you play your amp, lets say how many hours per day?
because i own my AD50 for half a year now and nothing happened ...

It's my larger gigging amp, so I don't use it on a daily basis. In fact, I haven't even used it in a gig yet.

Is your AD50 an older one with the cloth grille, or is it one of the newer ones with a metal grille? 'Cos mine's one of the first generation ones which apparently were plagued by an intermittent loss of output.

i never heard that there was a 'first generation'
do you mean the blue ones? ah, i remember the conversation we had on the last page of this thread.
the blue valvetronix amps are not the first generation but just a different, enhanced version of the chrom-grille ones.

i've got one with a chrome grille.

I don't think we can get the blue ones in the United States anymore, so they're first gen to us.

My AD120VT is in the shop again. It intermittently suffers from an cutting out of the left speaker. I've taken it in for repairs three times now. The guy's had it for a month and called me to let me know it's ready "this time." I went in with my headphones to verify, only to find that now there's no output to the headphones at all. Left speaker seems to work great! lol

Anyway, I left it with him again to get this new problem fixed, which I'm guessing arose as a result of fixing the old problem. Thankfully he doesn't charge for repeated visits for the same problem.
