Zhivago, Do you wrap the strings over the top of the tailpiece on all your Les Pauls with the TOM bridge and Stop Bar Tailpiece? Billy Gibbons had the right idea, you get the tone of a Stop Bar bridge and the intonation to boot. I was at the Spartanburg, SC guitar show a few weeks ago and saw the sacred 1 Million $$$ plus Peter Green/Gary Moore LP. It is The Holy Grail to The Les PaulNuts. I'm not into LPs that much but I can appreciate the historical relevance, heck I don't even remeber the color because I was occupied with finding Supro, National, Airline stuff.

But the tone is much better than with tuneomatic and if you need an adjustable bridge you can replace it with a Pigtail or TonePros (which still sound better than the tuneomatic/stoptail combo).

Ah, I didn't know there were aftermarket intonatable wraparound bridges .. it was the idea of not having individual string intonation I couldn't cope with.

Yeah - the Leo Quan Badass bridge has been around for quite some time ('70s?), but I believe they enjoy a less-than-stellar reputation with regard to tone.

I believe the Badass is chrome plated brass and weighs a ton.

On the other hand, the Pigtail is lightweight aluminum (like the original wraparounds) and would probably IMPROVE the tone if you are replacing a brass or pot-metal non-intonatable wraparound!
