My aunt found it in her attic, no one wanted it, so I got the call. No photos of it here yet, but here's from the internetz:

Basically a 70s Japanese knockoff of a 335 with a bolt neck and a psuedo-Bigsby. I'm pretty stoked. I've played it before and it was fun, just needs some TLC. No idea how it's going to sound through an amp, but I can't wait to play with the feedback :)

and I kind of wanted a hollowbody for awhile, so this satisfies that GAS recquirement... on to the next one.

p.s. I dig the groovy slider bars for the Volume and Tone.

Thank you guys! I'll make sure to post photos and soundclips thru the bassman this week.

It's kind of funny, a lot of my musical equipment has come to me in this way, just kind of haphazard "oh no one wants it, here".

That's how I got my main strat (mim, homebrew blackie, from an ex girlfriend), a shortscale bass that I've managed to lose (univox hi-flyer style), my crummy drum kit, and my former Fender Rhodes. Weird, but I can't complain.

Hmm.. and now the verdict after the first hour or so of playing it:

Thing could use a major setup and a new set of strings. It generates a lot of microphonic (i.e. not the good kind) feedback, so I think I'm going to buy a new set of humbuckers for her, and get my setup guy to give it the once over. I'm thinking gold GFS Wide Range reissue thingys, should sound nice :) (Yeahhhh hollowblaster!)
Other than that, I REALLY like the neck on it. It's very thin and fender-like, which sets it apart from most hollowbodies I've played in my life. Makes it nice and fast. Sweet :)

I'll keep everyone posted on the project, hopefully I can have her up and running in a week or two.

"National" is what it says on the headstock. It's MIJ according to the sticker on the back of the neck.
