I played a combo this weekend, it's like a fender twin with a HOT chanel. IMHO Mesas only sound good with gibson type guitars.

I need a 'swiss army knife' amp...  I think the tremoverb would be perfect for anything.  For example, I need an amp for a metal-pop band that i'm filling in for...
I think it's just a 2-ch dual rectofier w/ tremolo.

Yes, I did say metal  ;D  www.myspace.com/bangcamaro

they're probably the most famous video game band in the world (guitar hero/rockband) and kids love 'em.

It's been at least 15 years since i've played this style and it's not as easy as it used to be...  christ!  The show is on April 5th and basically when I took the gig, I had only 14 days to learn 12 songs... and In also play existing & make up new shreddy solos.    :o  3 more songs to go...

anyway, the tremoverb could be used for other things too...

I'd say save yourself some bread and go with an evil twin

Holy shit, that's awesome Mike, that should be a lot of fun :) I love those guys.

I guess I'll have to come out and see you when you play with 'em. Still have to catch Snow Leopards too, but the time will come...

I suppose you'll be using your Paul for this one, and not one of your JMs?

hey Steve!  yeah, I'll use an LP...  If I decide to tour with them, I was kicking around the idea of building a METAL JAZZMASTER!  ;D  Like, a warmoth body w/ humbuckers....  in seafoam!
But they have a Gibson deal so maybe I couldn't.... I dunno.  If I stick with it, I can play Lollapalooza and a shit load of other summer festivals...

I just don't know if a) I can afford to  tour for a month b) Heidi will most likely be pissed  ;D

Did you have a particular Tremoverb in mind, Mike?
I just spotted one on craiglist in our area (i.e. MA).

yeah, I saw that but I want a head not a combo...  BC's drummer just gave me an old '90 JCM900 Master model 2100 head to use but it's not working...
Someone in NH is selling an older 2-ch Mesa dual rec head...  maybe I should get that one.

he didn't 'give' me the 2100, he let me take it home to use & stuff...  8)  I couldn't let myself take it for free.

The 2100 doesn't work and a decent 2-ch dual rec. will cost me at least $900-1200, a Tremoverb might be more.  I think one on ebay sold for $1400.

I found a mint Marshall DSL100 for $600.  I think that's a good deal so I may pick that up tomorrow.  It's 'cooler' to have a Marshall than a Mesa, to me anyway.
My JM's & Jag will sound great thru it too!  :)
