A small XII Rotary Pot question

Post by Mr M » Fri Nov 17, 2006 7:46 am

The Rotary pot is a 4 way correct?

what does the 4th position do?

i would think a 3 way would be all you need

neck/(neck,bridge)/bridge

what kind would i need to get to do it right?

IIRC it's the neck through a tone circuit.

Actually, I think it is both pickups, but out of phase

I don't know, but it is definitely both pickups on positions 2 & 4. Without taking it apart and checking the wiring, I don't think that can be a separate tone circuit for one switch position, but not the other. There is a XII wiring diagram available online somewhere...

Where can we get a rotary pot for an Electric XII? Is it something readily available in component stores? Thanks!

Yeah, thanks for the link! I have no idea which part it is though, because like you said, they really have ALOT of parts. Haha. If I could trouble someone who knows the specific part?

Sorry, does anyone know? I was looking at rotary switches here...

http://www.oselectronics.com/ose_p114.h ... 20Switches

Would it happen to be part 30-15304, as it has 4 positions? How many poles does the XII rotary switch have? Thanks!

That's the way I'd go, when I'm building my XII...

Besides, I don't even know what the 4th position does...  ;)

yeah it just seems like the best way to do it!

i don't think i'd use the forth position at all.
