What is regarded as the best drop in, replacement roller bridge for the J Mascis Jazzmaster?
Not interested in Mastery (too expensive) or Staytrem (no longer available), but everything else is fair game.

I don't want to modify bridge posts etc and am not interested in Mastery (too expensive) or Staytrem (no longer available)

I used to have a GFS roller bridge on my Mascis Jazzmaster. Honestly, I don't remember exactly which one it was, they have two types (Wilkinson and another one). The radius theoretically doesn't fit the fretboard radius, but I was quite okay with that. I switched to the Staytrem in the end, which looks more 'right', has the 9.5 inch radius, and sounds different, even acoustically. The roller bridge gave the guitar more sustain, I think.NelsonP wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2020 7:42 amWhat is regarded as the best drop in, replacement roller bridge for the Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster?

I had one too, the bigger, blockier style. I concur with the "more sustain" conclusion. It sounded fantastic.caliban wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 4:17 amI used to have a GFS roller bridge on my Mascis Jazzmaster. In my case, the mojo level of the Staytrem won. It does sound good, but not as sustainy.mackerelmint wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 4:24 amI had one too, the bigger, blockier style. Re: Show your Squier Mascis JM Mods/Improvements!
• Added Kinman Surfmasters pickups
• Custom brass Compton bridge
• Gotoh locking gold tuners
• Gold aftermarket tremolo plate and arm (still need a gold arm with white tip)
• Gold roller string tree
• Custom fit and slotted bone nut
• Gold dome knobs
• Swapped anodized pickguard for a bright red pearloid
• All gold hardware screws except for the rhythm control plate, which I havent been able to find in gold for a reasonable price
Only things left I'd like to do is find those gold rhythm circuit screws, and I'd love to get the headstock painted to match the body as I've seen a few on here have.

Re: Show your Squier Mascis JM Mods/Improvements!
Here's mine:
A 2015 (with the rosewood fretboard). Only mods are AVRI Vibrato, gold Wilkinson Bridge and gold tele knobs (can't really tell they are gold in this light). Basically the poor man's version of the one posted in this thread earlier.
Lots will be changing soon though, as this came in the mail yesterday.
It's a 2020 classic vibe body. I've been waiting for a lightweight sunburst CV body to pop up for a while now, and it finally came to be. I have an AmPro bridge coming in on tuesday.... excited!
