so far i like it a lot, i like that i can make and save 10 loops. i like the reverse function and the half speed is neat.somanytoys wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 1:22 pmCurious to see what you think of it after you play with it.
On the Dito X2’s, I didn’t find anything bad necessarily about the switches on them, they seemed solid. Maybe the problem they mean with the switches is where “the spot”is to activate them. I didn’t stomp them, and maybe that was part of the problem. I just finally chalked it up to “I suck at it” and moved on to an Infinity.

I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Very cool. It sounds like you got the best of both worlds with it, 1/2 speed. & reverse, and saving more than 1 loop at a time. Seems like a good purchase, I hope it works well for you.
I still have only 1 real looper, which is okay because I just use it for recording bass lines along with a type of drum machine that controls the looper, and then play guitar along with it all. Sort of like a customized Trio pedal, I guess, I’ve never used one of those.

Hahaha! I can’t tell you how many times a thread has cost me whatever the pedal in the thread costs.
That does sound like a good looper. I hope you guys enjoy them.
We really need to talk to some of these companies about getting a commission...

Agreed! I own it for sometime now but this thread has prompted me to dig deeper into the features of the 720 looper - I didn't know you can overdub things in reverse or half/double speed while maintaining the other takes intact...super cool!

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
I didn't want to open a new thread but I'm in the market for a looper, I won 200 euro's in the thomann easter contest so that's my maximum budget, but ideally I don't spend it all.
It'll be my first looper, I've only borrowed a jamman for a week. I wasn't impressed.
I assume i'll like functions like 1/2 speed, reverse etc. I was looking into a ditto or ditto x2, but after reading this I am considering the 720.
- Is the 720 a good pedal to get into looping? And can I just hook it up to a normal power supply, my only EHX pedal is it a bit picky power supply wise.

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
I can only speak from my own experience, and mine with the 720 is pretty recent. I've had the original Ditto as well as a X2; my first looper was a Boss RC-20XL, and now I've got the 720. Personally, I never had a problem with a single one of them.surfin_bird wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 2:21 amI didn't want to open a new thread but I'm in the market for a looper, I won 200 euro's in the thomann easter contest so that's my maximum budget, but ideally I don't spend it all.

The 720 feels more intuitive to me. The original Ditto was great, but I didn't like having to remember different stomp patterns for different functions, which is why I upgraded it to the X2: a separate switch to stop the loop playback. I swapped the Ditto X2 for the 720 because it can store 10 loops, and let's be honest, it looks cooler to me too
All of these that I've had all took standard 9VDC center-pin negative power supplies with no problem.

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
That’s a good swap. The X2 was good, but only being able to store 1 loop wasn’t really useful for me - it may be good for other people’s purposes.
And you have to be good at the timing with the footswitch. I was not.
I sold both of mine and don’t miss them.
The 720 sounds intriguing, I may need to look at that for a 2nd looper. I don’t really need a second one, but what’s that got to do with shit?!? Haha
I thought that EHX gotten away from their weird power supply requirements with their newer stuff, which was smart. I haven’t owned any EHX pedals since I sold my older big box DEM and Small Clone.

I ordered a 720. It seems like generally everyone loves it here and didn't experience any issues.
I'm excited. Thanks!

My 720 just died. I've only used it with the power adapter that it came with. SIGH. I got it from Prymax and it did not have a warranty card. I've emailed EH asking for a repair. I hope that they are willing to help.

Yeah the only EHX pedal I'm using now is the C9 and I'm obsessively using it only with its given supply. Maybe just overkill but I don't want to risk anything.

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
I had good experience with that. They did charge though, but I had a Hazarai that kept changing from preset to whatever knob setting, and once the bypass switch also crapped out i sent it there, no warranty - bought used in 2008... Well what arrived was they simply took the back plate off mine and screwed it to a brand new pedal at a much cheaper cost of buying a new one at least.

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
Thanx, good to know. EH repair responded quickly to my email and they're only asking for $25 from me to cover the repair and shipping. Prymaxe (the seller) decline to help, which is fine. I was outside their return window by about 3 months (because I didn't use the pedal for 3 months after my initial test). That said, I wonder if they are selling returned pedals with problems and their business model assumes that some guys (like me) won't have the pedal crap-out until after the return window is passed.

GC/AMS/that whole family of stuff does that all the time, and I've definitely gotten supposedly-new stuff from Sam Ash that was missing peels and was pretty fingerprinty. Wouldn't be surprised.
Glad EH hooked you up with a pretty decent repair though!

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
What's the deal with the timing of hitting the footswitches on Ditto loopers people keep talking about? Is it somehow easier to get a cleaner, smoother loop on other looper pedals or something?
