Fender Twin Reverb?

Post by ugly casanova » Thu Apr 03, 2008 7:47 am

My local music store sells a beautifully worn Fender Twin Reverb like this:

for 650€ :o

if i only had the money and some muscles to carry it home :'(

i'd take a picture for you but i won't go there anymore for the rest of my life.
they sold me some ernie balls for 8€. i hate them. i worked for them 2 years ago and i hated them since then.. :-\

the amp looks totally ace, the torlex comes off and the grill cloth looks like it's been soaked in beer and sweat and has a large crack..
there are even some strange transparent light blue letters on the fabric, which look like a product nummber or something like that. ???

YES buy it...Don't worry about the SF VS BF...Nolan has an SF Twin ask him about it.

edit: I just noticed it's a master vol twin...This can change things a bit.

;D

P.S.
I'd buy it even if it's a master vol. you can't find a better clean/power for that money..(In Italy at least)

Those are fine amps. Loud, clean a good onboard reverb. A steady workhorse. Hope your neighburs are a bit deaf already. That seams to help with twins. Or easier, re-bias and take 2 of the 4 power tubes out. Helps a great deal imo.

If you buy it ,you'll have to buy a step-down converter. It runs on 110 volts. Shame you missed out on the twin i just had for sale last month . I got 375 euros for it and it was way cleaner .

That could be the 135 watt twin though. The logo has no tail so that means it's post 74?

I had a '79 twin which sounded great, I loved it and the new owner's really pleased with it.

;D That's exactly what I'm talking about!

I will admit though that a Twin is a bit of squirrelly handler, especially if you're tipsy. The center of gravity is just all wrong for performance maneuvers. The helmet is a good idea.
