Can you tell me where you bought this from? I plan to get this exact one but the usual places are still at the pre-order stage.
I ordered it direct from my fender rep.
He said they got 10 in at the wharehouse and he knew I wanted one so he called me.
I emailed him just now (1140 est Sunday night) to see if I can give you his number.
Thank you! I actually just saw that these are in stock in Musiciansfriend, so I might just go ahead and order one. I am slightly torn because my current focus is not guitars at all -- but the combo of Tele and JM pickups (which early reports say sound lacking) is a cool one.
He just got back to me. Looks like they gave them Labor Day off when I had to work lol. Check your DMs I put all his contact information in there for you.
Mine should be getting here today and I'll do one of my usual nosey demos that everyone laughs at and finds useless.

How does that tele sound? Are those actual JM pups opposed to the P90s they put in the Mascis?

I bogarted this image from someone on r/fender. If it was anybody here, sorry.
Looks like the Thinline Cabronita pickups are of the bar magnet / P90ish variety.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Never seen any embedded video here, so I guess not. Thanks for the demo!

Wait, so are these pickups P90s in JM clothing? That would be disappointing.
Also, this is the first time I realize it is Cabronita and not Carbonita. I finally understand why my reverb searches return nothing.

Before everyone gets thier dicks out to piss all over the pickups, THE PICKUPS ARE REALLY GOOD!!!
Listen to the words that are coming out of my mouth. I got 15 other guitars hanging on the wall right now and this thing doesnt sound like any of them. It's totally unique. I got 2 Esquires and a jazzmaster hanging up and this isnt that. Which I'm actually excited about.
I put a set if mammoth slinkys on it which are like 12-64 or something and this thing plays DARK, BIG, and CUTS. this doesn't make fart noises like the toronado did. A lot of times when you put big strings on guitars it's fartfest6000 that you have to EQ out. This guitar has waaaaay more clarity.
Long story short I'm not taking these pickups out. Ever.
