Yup, though the subject area will be Fine Art. PhD is a catch-all term. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_of_Philosophy

The whole thing hinges on funding, really. No funding = no Dr. Work O'fire

Fingers crossed.
I'll help you out with the money if you want. How much are one of those fancy PhD thingies. 10? 15 dollars?

Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

The neck is pretty much done - I'll stick the hardware and a nut on and take some better pics tomorrow.

EDIT: slightly better picture

So the neck re-fret and bridge restoration are now finished, ready to ship back over to France.

Before - note the mangled plastic sheet under the saddles and the cheeky woodscrew:

Image

After - everything cleaned, new adhesive plastic strip under the saddles (this is a stock feature on these bridges), new intonation screw (luckily the woodscrew hadn't destroyed the threads as much as we'd feared):

Before - rutted fretboard and wafer-thin, indented frets:

After - fretboard skimmed, new frets, new blank nut:

Agreed. That neck looks superb - as good as new. The bridge has cleaned up nicely too.

These kind of threads always fascinate me. Its a great skill you've got. Something I'll always be envious of.
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.
