Sorry if it is a distraction but I had a similar issue with an Aria 1802 type guitar and added a Staytrem tremolo upgrade that has worked out well.

Re: Univox Hi Flier phase III - tell me everything!
I finally found a set of pickups for my Hi Flier for a (somewhat) decent price:
The bridge pickup had been rewound (and fitted with new bobbins) by Jamie at The Creamery, that's why it looks a bit different. But it sounds great, they both do. Quite a step up from the Eastwood Phase 4 pickups I had in it before.

Punting this older one as I just bought a Phase II Hi Flier but it needs a trem arm. I've read mixed things about whether or not a jag arm fits? Can anyone confirm either way?

It does not, it needs a threaded arm. I found a Japanese Strat arm that fit ok, but it's a bit too short.

Bah...but thanks for the info. I'll start looking for something small and threaded.mynameisjonas wrote:It does not, it needs a threaded arm. I found a Japanese Strat arm that fit ok, but it's a bit too short.

Got my Hi Flier today. Pretty cool guitar. Much thinner than I thought it would be but plays really well and sounds awesome. It is something of a fretless wonder. My Callaham strat arm screwed almost all the way in, so that works. Feels like a fun guitar that I could see using live.

Apologies for the self-plugging but almost every single guitar and bass sound on this album is a Phase 3 Hi Flier, if that's your bag:

Re: Univox Hi Flier phase III - tell me everything!
So... I know I'm digging up an old post here.. BUT, has anyone ever put a Mastery bridge and/or Vibrato on a Phase III? I have a Phase 3 and it's a mess. It needs a bridge and a vibrato and frets and Etc. Etc...... So any help would be greatly appreciated.

It'll work in theory though the cavity would need to be enlarged for the Mastery but I would search out a real one or get it repaired (if it's not missing) as the original trems are great if they're set up right and have the correct arm.

Hi! New to the forum. Does anyone know where I can get pickup mount rings for hi flier phase iii (HH)? Got some off Amazon that are supposed to fit a gibson or epiphone style guitar and they are too big

Good luck - they're impossible to find unless someone is selling some genuine ones for some reason. The rings in one of my Phase IIIs are snapped on both sides and I've had to screw in some pickguard material to patch them up and hold the pickup in place. They're a weird size, made weirder by having 2 screw holes on one side and 1 on the other.

ive kinda been tempted lately to find a set of phase III pickups and stick em in a jazzmaster or jaguar.

Does anyone know which tremolo arm definitively fits a Phase III

They sound pretty good - definitely proves that the Univox sounds the way it does because of other things than the pickups though...s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 10:34 amive kinda been tempted lately to find a set of phase III pickups and stick em in a jazzmaster or jaguar.
Univox humbuckers are very hard to come by though - I was lucky and thought to grab some spares when I realised how important they were to whatever constitutes 'my sound'. The best route might be trying to find a Univox 'Gimme' 3 pickup strat, removing the 3 humbuckers and replacing the whole pickguard with a normal strat set up and re-selling.
