Re: May have found a machinist for a XII bridge
Hi (my first ever post here!)
In reference to what mjet260 said, is the Danelectro bridge measurements different from that of the Fender XII? Or would the distance between each of the strings still the same for both bridges? Thanks

If anyone's still interested, theres a bridge for sale on ebay. Its missing the bit where the saddles rest though. Any takers?

Re: May have found a machinist for a XII bridge
I don't have an XII bridge, but I do have the Dano 12 bridge on the way to me now (should be here next week). I'll post photos and measurements when I get it. I believe the Dano bridge is actually the Gotoh 12 with a different base plate. If so, getting the routing done would be easy as USACG and others are already set up for the Gotoh 12 bridge.weijie wrote: Hi (my first ever post here!)

My plan is to build an XII inspired guitar, not a replica, so I'm hoping the Dano 12 bridge does the trick.

What do you think it's going to go for?Mr M wrote:

Personally, I would put down $50; maybe $75...
It's going to go for way too much

yeah probably way too much, i figure around $100 but i don't really know, it's the first on i've seen on ebay.
i wish some stupid company would mass produce these things.
if i had the $ i would get the squire Venus XII that's on ebay and get some copys made of the bridge and then put that venus back on ebay!

Re: May have found a machinist for a XII bridge
Actually in looking at some past auctions I came across a guy who was selling a complete bridge for $299 a few months back. The photo that he took was perhaps the best one I've seen in that it showed ALL of the parts:
* 12 individual saddles with tension springs and adjustment screws
* Saddle base unit with 2 allen height adjustment screws
* Chrome plate with 6 mounting holes [reissues and Japanese made units have 5 holes; only original items have 6 mounting holes] with 6 phillips screws
* Saddle base plate [plate that mounts to body that Saddle Base rests upon] with 2 phillips mounting screws
* Back string mount plate with 2 phillips screws
I had never seen the saddle base plate - this photo shows it clearly.

Hahaha. Yeah, it does seem a little suspicious that the bridge and the bridge base suddenly are on sale at the same time.

If you buy that venus XII, send the pickups to novak and he'll make a bunch of copies, hopefully, then sell the guitar.

Curtis is already working on these pickups and if I recall correctly he'll have them added to his line in early 2007.StevenO wrote: If you buy that venus XII, send the pickups to novak and he'll make a bunch of copies, hopefully, then sell the guitar.
