Judging by the pics ollenorin posted of his Bass VI, Charcoal Frost would've been a great choice!seasick croc wrote: I'm extremely disappointed with the radius choice. I wish they'd just use AVRI necks and throw some "thin skin" paint on the damn headstocks.
As for the colors, I love that they're going with Lake Placid Blue, Shell Pink, Burgundy Mist, and Blonde. Those will look great. Fiesta Red and Aztec Gold?? As mentioned, Fiesta Red is a great color, but it's been done. And I don't see a huge demand for Aztec Gold on an offset. There are about 10 colors that would have made more sense, starting with Charcoal Frost or Sherwood Green.
There's no such thing as too much reverb.

I think I'm going to have more trouble fighting off the Aztec than I am the blond when they materialize.seasick croc wrote:And I don't see a huge demand for Aztec Gold on an offset.

You guys need to drop the fiesta red, been there done that. It flies in the face of all those that have it already, or have passed on it to begin with.
Why would you want to put out a repeat? the only reason I can think of is demand, but wait, the sonic blue sold out almost instantly... Not Fiesta red.
Drop the Red and give us another option Please! I want a Jag...

I was on the sherwood green band wagon- but I have to say that charcoal frost would probably be the ultimate color for a thin skin. Just plain sweet.Robbo wrote: Judging by the pics ollenorin posted of his Bass VI, Charcoal Frost would've been a great choice!

I agree, but how limited are the thinskins? If this new batch sells fast, and I'm sure it will, why wouldn't the dealers set up another run for next year or from five years from now etc..Targ wrote: You guys need to drop the fiesta red, been there done that. It would kind of suck to buy a new '59 this summer only to see them in production again in the relatively near future.

Re: 2008 thin skin colors confirmed
The colors sound fantastic, but if the fretboards feel like the strats with the same 9.5 radius then it's just pretty mutch raising my hopes just to dash them again. I've wanted a LPB with a matching headstock since I've been playing guitar. I don't really think I'd mind the 9.5 radius as mutch if the nut width was lowered a bit. All 9.5 necks fender makes just feel way to big for me. I'd almost just rather build a partsmaster at this point...

You may be right, if they continue this, there may be no hurry to jump on these people, we can just wait till the next run to see if they offer the colors we want.I agree, but how limited are the thinskins? After all the one reason to snatch these up fast was because of the "limited" availability.

I think I know why they didn't do a repeat run of the sonic blue, its because they personally purchased that color and want it to remain in high demand.

That seems like a lot of trouble for $1600. Actually, that seems like a lot of trouble for 75 * $1600.Targ wrote:I think I know why they didn't do a repeat run of the sonic blue, its because they personally purchased that color and want it to remain in high demand.

What trouble? they just order different colors, done.
Facts are the Sonic blues sold out very fast, and if they were going to base the future "repeat" color orders on demand, Sonic blue is the obvious choice.
As for the new colors, you guys have to know as well as me that Fender doesn't care, They are going to make whatever the order is for from the shops...
They would never turn down a work order for a few hundred guitars because "they don't want to make Sherwood Green" Fender is in business to make money
and that is money to them, regardless of color in the spray can.

Re: 2008 thin skin colors confirmed
I don't know Targ. It seems a bit elaborate. I don't think there's a conspiracy afoot (remember there are 3 dealers participating) to keep sonic blue from you. Actually, if it's a Jag you're after, I know where two sonic blues are right now and one is new and listed at a used AVRI price. If sonic blue isn't what you are after, then what color are you looking for?
edit: I lied.. it's a touch more expensive than used AVRI. link.
Make it 3. MM has one on ebay ATM.
