Surfburst on a Jaguar?

I’m embarking on another sparkle quest and am planning out a surfburst refin project on either a Jaguar or JM. At the moment I have 2 JMs (sunburst and OTM) and only 1 Jag (black), so I’m inclined to add another Jaguar to restore balance to the universe.

What do you all think of a surfburst Jaguar?

From what I’ve read, surfburst was originally done on a JM, Strat, and P-bass, and it seems more common to do it on a JM and pretty rare to do it on a Jaguar. This is the only photo I could find online of surfburst on a Jaguar. Going with a gold pickguard might look a little weird against all the chrome, and the parchment/cream guard looks good to me here. But the original JM looks incredible, too, and I’m torn!

Super awesome looking with the white guard on the Jag.
Chris from Texas Toast just put out a great video on a pinkburst Jaguar he built, has lot of great Fender paint history in it.

Painting a guitar in surfburst without a matching headstock should be a crime.

You can grab a matching-ish p90 tele for relatively short $ too.
