No apology necessary. I was aiming for Bob Mould's slightly-modulated, direct-to-board,MXR Dist+ vibe -- early Hüsker Dü!

I'll muck around and see if I can hit what I'm chasing.
Ps. I reckon you’ve got that dialed. Your clip above really said Husker Du to me. Maybe you could go even “fizzier”? Moulds tone always sounds quite trebly to me?

Thanks! Yeah, it's funny, my mixing setup is garbage, and it's like I'm AFRAID to go that trebly until I export it to MP3 (for now), but you're spot on, it's not slashy enough.

I edited a post above, but here's the sound after 3 minutes spent remixing for more treble and fizz and it's STILL not there. My mediafire app is all screwy so can't tell if I properly redirected.

Candy Curtain - Don't, Bob, Don't

I'll stop monopolizing the thread and let the gorgeous Oranges have the floor, but in case anybody listens to that link above, it's a hot bridge humbucker, a cheap Dist+, a Donner pitch shifter set to detune +/-5 (blended to taste), and some compression at the end of the chain. Not a tone knob to be found on the board.

No amp, no cab sim, straight into the "board" in GarageBand. A little EQ in the box to cheat some breathing room in the mix since it was so first-take. Crank those highs! Don't be scared!

You can Hüsker Dü it yourself!

Ergh, since sorting out my board the lucky cat & DMM Nano are popping when I switch them on in the effects loop. They’re after the CE-2 in the loop chain, and everything has isolated power. Swapped a few patch leads around but no joy. Will need to test every cable :'(
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

After several years of just using the Surfybear I've put myself together a pedalboard again. Bought a new fuzz and all haha!

Love it!

I've got one of Tims Super Unpleasant Companions as well...really great Super Fuzz/Shin-Ei clone - his wife gave it to me as a tip for some work I did for her! When I build a bigger board it'll go on it along with some others of his.

Hell yeah, I've been having a lot of fun with it. Always loved the Super Fuzz sound, been nice to have the Companion sound to play around with too now

This has been a favorite as of late!

1970 Guild M-75 (fully hollow version) > Tiny Garage Pedals Percolator Clone > 90s DMM > Panaramic 1210 (basically a Magnatone 213)

Great cleans and the Percolator/DMM Combo unlocks some Neil Young style amp-gonna-blow-up tones when I want them.

Ric 330 > Mosky Dyna Comp > Roland Cube Chorus 60 > Beyer-Dynamic DT 250s, so both the neighbours and I have no cause for complaint. :)

It's a great receiver! Especially with the KLH speakers it's paired with (shown). It's a very detailed sounding setup for what was a fairly ho-hum middle of the road rig back in the day.

Today's set-up doubles as an NPD for this Fredric Effects Mutant Fuzz (mk. I, I think) I won on eBay the other week.

Loving the fuzz, the Tele, the Roland, and the sun shining in!

been playing with just these two over the last few weeks Image

I picked up the bass big muff after watching some videos of the Hallmark Fuzz Blender like this :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_5IBV6--uM

and wanting to get some of those fuzz + clean signal sounds, possible on this with the dry blend mode (thanks bass players). I'm not usually a huge big muff fan, but by having your clean signal present it allows you to go a bit wackier with the controls while keeping a core sound. You can get some cool 'broken amp' style tones from it too.
