Today's set-up doubles as an NPD for this Fredric Effects Mutant Fuzz (mk. I, I think) I won on eBay the other week.

Loving the fuzz, the Tele, the Roland, and the sun shining in!

What's the inbuilt chorus like on these? I have a couple of 1st Gen Cubes but neither are chorus models and I'd like to find one for a reasonable price (like everything, they've shot up in asking prices).

The chorus is very thick, I'd say. It's only on or off, so you're stuck with the designer's choice of rate and depth, but it's kind of the classic Roland chorus sound. I've read that it's the same as the JC chorus (in mono, obviously), which in turn is said to be the same as the CE-1 chorus, but you know how the interwebs are for supposition/disinformation.

I had these as a saved search on eBay, and sure enough a bargain one came up a couple of weeks after I became the custodian of my pal's one. I think it was a temption £100, so there are still some bargains to be had if you don't let your GAS run away with you.

I had trouble resisting the bargain one myself, as I love them too, but I'm trying to veer towards gear minimalism when I can reel myself in. One day I might cave and go for that stereo wet set-up I dream of pairing with a stereo clean/dirty set-up. If I do, will Prog be mandatory?

Three 70s strats and a micro cube

from left to right -

14lbs 1979 ash strat - the heaviest guitar in the known universe, but also one of the best sounding strats I've ever had, tuning stability is unbelievable, I can use the whammy bar all day long. Nearly all stock, except for pickguard and saddles

1975 strat - I'm helping a friend of mine to sell it, newer pickups, but mostly stock youtube demo

1979/80s MIJ body partscaster - crazy partscaster I bought recently in Italy, there are some atrocities fgoing on underneath the pickguard, but it sounds AWESOME. It is pretty lightweight as well. youtube demo

The band setup is pretty much stable :
-lipstick'd Harley Benton 7-string, with fanned frets (I don't feel much of a difference but it probably helps with the A to D tuning I'm using)

-DIY fuzz factory
-Korg tuner
-Harley Benton American Sound, which is the same as the Joyo iirc, as an always on boost for the lipstick and to have some low gain and add some EQ
-Boss DD7, permanently in analog mode

Into the EHX 44 Magnum, hence the need for a preamp type pedal, and into whatever cab is in the room this day, as usual. This one looks nicer than the usual beat up 4x12, but I can't hear much of a difference anyway.

The purple couch strap and colorful stickers help to unmetal the guitar.

Yeah, Skinny Milk were good, I enjoyed their set. I'll look up your band...Man or Astro-Man? are a particular favourite

Last year I had to help set that rooftop thing up and it was a nightmare in fact, the last two years the weather has been great for the rooftop gig, real lucky.
