Played a rooftop show at a harbour yesterday

Nothing more fun than a gig in the sun, I would've been a bit worried about the lack of guard rails / railings though :D

very fortunate that you avoided the absolute bank holiday standard downpours we've had all weekend!
It was a really lovely day luckily!

Yeah, Skinny Milk were good, I enjoyed their set. I'll look up your band...Man or Astro-Man? are a particular favourite :-*

Last year I had to help set that rooftop thing up and it was a nightmare :D in fact, the last two years the weather has been great for the rooftop gig, real lucky.
Thanks mate! We actually played with The Wave Chargers the day before Hipsville last year, those guys are great!

Also if your father-in-law is who I think it might be he was up on the roof with us in a gorilla suit hahaha

It was a lot of fun, I did find myself perilously close the edge a couple of times though lol. Shout out the guys who came onto the roof mid set to aim the cab at the people below, they held that thing there for over an hour!

Luckily that was just some decor and nothing heavy duty'!

Sounds about right. I've been entombed in one of those suits (under duress) more times than I'd like :D

That's sick, I saw the pics of it from Hipsvilles instagram page over the weekend, I hope it was as much fun to play as it looked

Kitchen remodel is almost finished so the house is returning to some normality finally. First thing to sort was to reclaim my music 'spot'...

Same here. 2 more people that did time in one of those gorilla suits and we have a support group! I ended up in one of those suits to wake kids up at a summer camp. I was the Good Morning Gorilla. Looking back, somebody had to be on drugs to OK that one...

Tonight, I'm doing a guest appearance in Prague's O2 Arena - one of the biggest venues in the country. I'm playing just two songs in the show as a guest guitarist, but I'm still pretty nervous LOL. Tonight I'm using Wolf T-Plank with Tuma Pickups mini WRHB and 66/82 partscaster (OG 66 stratocaster neck mated to an early 80s body, Van Zandt pickups - NGD thread soon) as a backup, since the ukraine flag guitar looks more striking on stage :) both guitars sound gorgeous, but I was pretty nervous about taking my JMs because of all the lightning rigs around, so I decided to use the wrhb equipped guitar as the main one .
Image

I took my trusty 2204 with a homemade 1x12 cab fitted with Mesa Black Shadow C90 and everybody is very happy with the sound!

Image

I use the Mooer Radar on top of the amp as an IEM monitoring device - the resulting sound is remarkably consistent and I have tweaked the built in eq just right for my shure earbuds. I wouldn't like that sound in FOH (that's the SM57 job), but it works perfectly in the in ears.
Check out my band, The Atavists ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG-HZtrljMg

I found a scrap piece of ply and actually bothered to make the smallest pedalboard of my life :D

This is the correct distance between pedals.
