Here's a Screamadelica strat I put together last year. I freakin' love that album so much and I am a sucker for maple necks on a strat. This one has a JM neck that I had lying around and I put a Strat decal on it.

It's listed as "1973 C-shape" and it's nice and maybe kinda chunky, definitely not skinny.

Welp, after getting my Vox Cambridge Reverb back from repair my Strat is out of the doghouse. That amp is much better suited to the sounds I want out of a Strat.marqueemoon wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 9:42 amI’ve been on a Shadows kick lately and have been appreciating those Hank Marvin Strat + tape echo sounds (and Burns + tape echo sounds).
My own Strat is in time out though. It’s a sound I just can’t seem to make work for me.
I’ll likely be using this combination for an upcoming solo show.

Asking on the off-chance here as I’m not a member of any other guitar forums…
50th anniversary strat (with 2 tone sunburst, cs54 pickups & branded case) - does anyone know if the trem block & tuners were standard production 2004 parts?
I almost bought one a few months back where someone has swapped those parts & the pickguard to vintage style. It’s still for sale at a decent price. I can’t help but think it’d be a great investment if I can source parts to to make it factory spec at some point, and enjoy the 50s vibe in the meantime (which happens to be my favourite strat look).
Some pics from the web as reference in case anyone can identify by sight:

Nice! I love that album too and have the matching Fuzz Face to your strat!
I've always had a love/hate thing with strats. I've wanted to hate them but always end up with at least one and, as much as I don't want it to, it just fits.
Reasons to hate strats:
SRV
Clapton
actually, most blues wankers with a strat
Reasons to love strats:
Rory Gallagher
Dick Dale
Billy Corgan (well, Gish, Siamese Dream and MCatIS anyway)

Here's my "Rory" spec strat. Lovely and thick sounds, almost like a Gibson, esp in the neck pickup.
3tsb, 1 piece ash body from MJT
Allparts nitro satin neck with a "C" back and a slab rosewood fretboard
All Callaham brushed hardware
Rumpelstiltskin Pre-CBS pickups

Re: Stratocaster appreciation thread
You're probably not wrong but I've only heard of 3 of those guys, Byrne, Belew and Reed and have only listened to the Talking Heads of the those 3.
Also, I'm in the parts collecting stage for a Corgan-ish strat. I have a hardtail body from BloomDoom, a maple neck, CBS headstock Allparts neck and a Red/Blue/Silver set of Lace pickups to try out. I still need a bunch of hardware and electronic parts but the big stuff is here already.

OMG! You are in for such a treat!!! If you go and listen to these guys, you will have the wonderful experience of discovering fantastic new music.
Oh, and how could I forget Richard Lloyd and his '61 Strat, making music of the Gods with Television!!!

Just want to add a few more…
Robbie Robertson
Mark Knopfler
Michael Kiwanuka
I wish Clapton’s morally bankrupt escapades stopped at the same time as his drinking and drug use

Ritchie Blackmore, Junior Marvin and Curtis Mayfield, too. Can't think of a more contemporary Strat hero, though...

Gotta nominate Hank Marvin and Bob Mould for that list.
