How do you feel about the U-shaped neck now? Do you think it might be too thick? I also had my eyes on this one, but unfortunately, there's no way I can find one nearby to try in person. If possible, do you know the neck depth measurements at the first and twelfth frets?

Not OP, but I bought one a couple weeks ago. A quick test with my digital calipers says...

1st fret: 0.87" / ~22mm
12th fret: 0.93" / ~24mm

These calipers were pretty cheap, so there's some float in the accuracy I would imagine. Take those as "close enough" measurements :)

As for feel...it certainly fills the hand. I don't think it's "too big", though I tend to like larger necks in general. I think the two biggest things to note are the somewhat pronounced shoulders (the U shape combined with the binding definitely make for a noticeable shoulder, especially if you wrap your thumb around) and the lack of taper (both seen in the measurements above, but also felt--the neck feels like a mostly uniform thickness from the nut to the body).
