You know there's going to be an FSR from CME or something.
The Vinteras historically haven’t gotten the FSR treatment, so I’m not holding my breath, as nice as it would be.

I'm sitting next to my CME/Anderton's Vintera Road Worn '60s Strat in Candy Apple Red right now...

I stand corrected and apparently should have googled before I opened my mouth!

Dealing with Andertons feels grubby though, like handing money to a schoolyard bully. One of their sales 'experts' kindly explained to me that 'good brands' like Fender, Squire and G&L don't send out guitars that need a set up. My G&L Tribute bass arrived with a dead section in the neck above the octave. Danish Pete and Rabea seem ok but the others generally take a real dim-bulb approach to offsets, Gretsches and (especially) Rickenbacker. The 'Clash of the Shite-uns' videos on Squire and other budget brands is really tasteless and I am shocked that Rickenbacker would even sell them stock after the last 'promo' I saw.

It always blows my mind that they have zero knowledge of anything that isn’t a strat or tele! Like if fender does a nod to the cbs era like the Coronados they are clueless that they even existed! I’ve never worked in a guitar shop but I can list off all the oddballs, like know your product for fucks sake and the history!

Found another pic of the Bass VI and the shade of LPB looks even better than on the first few pics:

I didn't see the bass VI but saw a couple of the new lineup in a shop yesterday, and was struck by how much lighter the LPB was than my Squier Bass VI from Anderton's. Liked it a lot better.

These are my two Squiers that are Lake Placid Blue... LOL

I love both guitars but... Clearly not the same color.

Yes, but Fenders LPB is always different in different series and years, too. I read somewhere in this forum, that noone actually knows what LPB looks like because they stopped producing the actual laquer at some point and now we only have examples (old guitars, cars, prints, cans of laquer) in different stages of decay.

Lifting the guard on an LPB 60s fender will be pretty damn close I think
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Also most of the color change is from the clearcoat, isn't it? I know some colors themselves do change (like red) but I thought blue was pretty stable.

Yeah, the clearcoat yellows with UV and changes things, and sunlight will also fade paint....so, under the guard neither will happen. That's where people look for the original colour on vintage pieces because it's basically untainted.

(online but not in stock - but they do already have some basses, apparently)

€1400 is a hefty sum for a MIM, though :'(
i love delay SO much ...that i procrastinate all the time.

I think it's the sneering that gets to me. That combination of arrogance and ignorance is really off-putting. I've seen clips of the main guy totally slagging off or laughing at Squire, Fender and Rickenbacker gear, to the point I'm surprised he wasn't contacted about it by the companies. The minute you step outside blues-rock territory, he seems way out of his depth... but no less prepared to offer definitive judgments on things. If he sets the tone for the company's culture, the high-handedness of the sales person I dealt with is unsurprising.
