Re: Fender Vintera II Leaked?
As much as I think the black jag with the black block inlays is a good look. I am still completely bored by the color choices on the jag and Jazzmaster. They went from beautiful ice blue on the Jazzmaster and ocean turquoise on the jag in the first series to THIS? BORING. Honestly, I am glad and my wallet is glad especially after seeing these prices. If one was in Sherwood green, I’d be in trouble.

Really!? Hard to tell from photos but I'd be very surprised if it was just painted on.
The specs state bound so unlikely for it to be painted on.

Yeah, I would be surprised if that was just painted on. Even my lowly Squier VM/CV bound guitars have actual binding; it would be extremely disappointing for Fender to pull that on a guitar with a fourth digit in its price.

Why the hell would they paint it on?
The maple neck'd TVL JM wasn't painted on and it's the same process...

Re: Fender Vintera II Leaked?
Does anyone know if this actually is the end of the 60s vintera offsets? Or will they simply be updated with rosewood? It seems odd to me that you would ignore the 60s and instead go for the lesser known specs of the 50s and 70s. Especially when it comes to the jag? Putting a maple board on it seems like it would divide an already small fan base?

But ok.. you know it was Andertons that told me it was painted on, when i was trying a TVL JM.. I tried a lot of guitars that day. I said the binding looks odd on the TVL, and complained that the frets hung over the binding to the edge of the neck to the point the edges caught my hand...which isn't vintage correct...he said oh its just painted on, on these........ or was it the limited Squier VI with black binding I tried? I will have to check again when I go in there.

They still mix up surf green and seafoam as well on their website and some of their videos. That's another one which drives me mad.

Re: Fender Vintera II Leaked?
The binding came loose on my Squier Jazz Bass and had to be reglued a couple years ago. My luthier made an offhand comment that he had recently had to perform the same fix on a maple neck TVL JM.
Man is my wallet (and likely wife) glad I'm set on Mustangs at the moment.Surfysonic wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 7:32 amResolve...weakening...![]()

Re: Fender Vintera II Leaked?
With aged pickup covers and a good tort that would be one of the best looking guitars available today.
Looking forward to your review Pat!
