Well if the standalone verb tank is as good as the Fender Blackface Twin Reverb uh, reverb, then I totally get why. Every amp I've tried since I had a RI Twin has disappointed me with how bland and/or tinny the verb is, it's like amp manufacturers who aren't Fender really don't care to get it right, and I suppose don't have a dedicated tube for the verb which in the Twin probably helps.i love sharin foo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 3:39 pmMy old Fender Tube Reverb Unit is at the end of my chain about 95% of the time. I don’t have a foot switch for it either, so it’s always on. Usually, if I use a different reverb like plate from another unit, it’ll still be run into the Fender I’ve been doing that for years! I’ve had that ‘65 Fender unit for 19 years now. I lean on it quite a bit.

Beautiful! What kind of board is this? I've been mulling upgrading from my trusty PTJr to something with more real estate. Seeing how you can have a DMM and maybe 4 Boss pedals on the top row is promising.
My little board keeps me honest since I can't get much on there, but I'm always spilling over when I want to have more hooked up.

Re: your effects setup?
Looks like a Temple board, but I might be wrong.
This is in another thread but here we go anyway. Current iteration of the 5 effects I actually use, plus a couple of utility pedals. I've tried every combination under the sun of these to make them fit better but that damn DMM is too good to even consider removing and it's a beast that imposes it's shape anywhere. Oh well. At least the cabling is tidy
I would like a black Micro Amp for the aesthetics though, as shallow as that is

Yes, as Johnny said it is a Temple Board Duo 24:

I really like them, I have a 4 input module on the side to keep things tidy and give me access to the stereo outputs of the PN-2 which runs last in chain.

Looking great! I totally get it with the DMM....such a weird and awkward size.JSett wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 10:11 pmThis is in another thread but here we go anyway. Here's a visual exercise....take three of my all time favourite pedals:
Klon Centaur
ZVex Fuzz Factory
EH Deluxe Memory Man
Add a tuner of your choice and try to make a visually pleasing pedalboard. It is impossible! Crazy shapes, all of them!

It appears that they are sold out at current, but Madbean makes a DMM PCB that fits into a tall 1590 type enclosure. Makes a real board-friendly DMM:

Also, never be ashamed by putting the model h on there. Such cool pedals. I’ve seen one for sale in Japan but it’s a bit spendy once VAT is added.

It is odd, sometimes I get an idea for a new board and once I start playing I instantly miss things that always find their way back on there.
I got real lucky a few years ago and got my Model H from some dude on Facebook...I think he was in Thailand or thereabouts. It was a leap of faith sending him the money!
It was definitely not cheap, but it is very low serial # (one of the first 5 made) and the one BJFE pedal I have kept over the years...I've had it for 8 years I think.

Re: your effects setup?
Why do you think I use two boards and a million pedals? It makes it easier just to keep adding. Rather than adding AND subtracting. Eventually I strip things down and kind of start over. Currently both boards are full and there are three pedals off the boards because they don’t fit!
This isn’t some kind of metaphor

I have a Duo 17 that is empty right now, but I have no power supply (which keeps the madness at bay!)

Re: your effects setup?
I've posted this elsewhere and I've tidied it up a lot since I put it together, but damn, a few minor issues aside this is a cheap, versatile little rig. Depending on the way you look at it there are 3 choruses or 3 delays on the boards, just not all at once, and that opens a lot of options up. Even the phaser on the Digital Multi-FX which I thought was trash works really really well because it's so subtle - it doesn't "own" the entire guitar mix, it just helps make nicer trails on the Modulation Delay which sounds heavenly, so it can be even more transparent than the Stone clone. I've had a lot of fun messing with all of this, and I'm particularly impressed with the Vintage Overdrive (yellow one) - honestly, literally the best standalone overdrive I've ever owned and I've had quite a few.
By tomorrow there should be a looper on there too - I never should have sold my Solo XT but it was used as a partial trade-in for the Meteora a couple of years ago. I miss it for hashing out song ideas, for example being able to lay down the rhythm part and practice the solo over the top with a click to keep it in time, or working out a complimentary chord sequence in a different register to go over the first one; often saves time when recording.
