don't refinish it it looks so sweet the way it is with some relicing. it has some character.

Em, I was joking!!! This thing's a family heirloom - I'm having a hard time even bringing myself to switching out the dud electronics...

yeah man -

really nice blonde ya got there.

it probably has 1 meg pots - which is great in a JM - but in a tele , MOST people would prefer 250K pots. However, the original are worth quite a bit so you may not wanna ditch em. Stick em in the case for safe keeping or sell em for $100-150 if you are never gonna sell that guitar

I have 4 70s teles - and they all have 250 pots which IMHO is a HUGE improvement
Louder isn't better. It's just louder ( and better )

Thanks for the advice! I'm never gonna sell the guitar - my Granddad owned it from new, and gave it to me for my 18th birthday. I'm gonna change all the electrics in it, and keep all the old stuff safe.
