Ridiculous, they thought it was broken, and all it was was a microphonic tube... well, a deal is a deal, and for 100 bucks, it'll be lots of fun, too bad I don't have any gibsons....
photos and better story to follow, but I simply must play this thing.

Don't they have any broken jazzmasters? You know, with a busted string or something.

Re: and that's how I got a Peavey Windsor head for 100 dollars from GuitarCenter
hah, god, if only.
Yeah, seems to be some fidgeting with the tubes, so I'm dropping it off at my shop of choice on Thursday to get a once over/rebiasing/new set of tubes, and it should be set to rock. Now I need to get some kind of Gibson and a 4x12 or something to appreciate it to the max
I have to say though, through my cursory playing with it today, I'm pretty happy with it. It seems to respond well to EQ changes as far as the different kinds of sounds that it makes, and I definitely look forward to further experimentation with it, see if I can nail some of my favorite 70s and 80s kind of sounds out of it.
Ultimately, I think I'll try running a 2 amp rig with my Bassman set for cleans and this for my gains. It'll be unnecessarily big, but hey, that's where the fun is!
Taking photos tonight, will upload later.

The probably bought it from the original owner for 50 bucks.
