Picked up a bass!

Hi all,

I did used to play bass in the late 90s and did a bit of gigging in a covers band with a Marshall amp and a Fender Precision Bass. Sold up early 2000s and did nothing until last year when I got a few 6-string. That's what I want to learn badly, but I still have a bass hankering so decided to get myself a present at weekend. Also, I'm hoping it will start to stretch my fingers a little and make MG69 Mustang easier to play!

Opted for a Höfner Ignition Special Edition Violin Bass in Sunburst as I found them beautiful to handle, lightweight, and I like the short scale. Also a big Beatles fan too, so that sound hits me, plus this bass is still quite versatile too. I also bought an Orange Crush Bass 25 as it's perfect for my current ambitions.

Very cool, a good friend of mine that I jam with has one and loves it.

I too am about to bite the bullet and get a bass guitar of some sort to do some recording with...I've been looking at myself in the mirror and threatening to do this for years!

great bass! the Hofners have a very under/overrated sound in that those pickups sound great in a mix but everyone also associates the bass with Macca.
