Re: Tuffset Bridge
Ok, I've been thinking about this ever since the brass saddle Tuffset became available,
and I just went ahead and ordered one.
Now, I guess I should sell my wave 2, never used, never mounted stainless steel Tuffset.

Thanks y’all! It needs a good polish and I have a few last touches to put on but I’m loving how it looks.

Cheers Dennis, I saw the order come in! Might be an opportunity to decide for sure which saddle material you like best on the specific guitar?

Re: Tuffset Bridge
I saw that, Dan. Thanks for shipping it out so fast.
As a sax player, I decided that I needed to have brass saddles to go along
with the brass nut.
By the way, did you see my email about resurrecting my thinline jugular project?
thanks again.

Thank you! I felt Decoboom’s Streamline guard would look especially good with neck binding and I’m really happy how it turned out.Deed_Poll wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 11:58 amWow dude that looks great!! Now I’m still finishing the setup, but I’m pretty amazed with this bridge. It manages to accentuate the harmonic content of a floating bridge setup even more yet it somehow sustains and resonates leagues better than the stock bridge (which likely contributes to the former). If you don’t like the overtones that are characteristics of this setup, then the Mastery will be more your speed. But I think that offers a really cool choice between two totally different, but brilliantly engineered approaches. I’m really excited to finish my setup and put the Tuffset to good use.

Hi Dennis! I'm sorry I've gotten a bit behind on GF stuff, I'll catch up over the festive period and get back to you!

Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing a picSurfysonic wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 8:18 pmMine arrived today! Looks great and easy to install. Thanks so much, Dan!![]()

I thought it must be a decoboom! Thank you for writing a detailed and thoughtful review of your impressions. That's something we're getting used to hearing - that it really brings out the best in the overtones behind the bridge. You can dial them up and down a bit by varying the bridge height / shim angle - if you want more of the BTB dimension, try removing shim angle and if you want less, shim the neck up and it starts to behave a bit more like a fixed-post bridge (albeit with smoother floating / vibrato action!)IceBlueBoogaloo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2024 9:52 am

Hey Pat! First of all, I'm so sorry you got stung by German customs. There have been a few headaches to compete with recently including the new GPSR rules that are devastating artisan makers of all kinds selling into the EU by forcing us to hire an official representative on the books in an EU country, and to provide compliance documentation (and translate the manual) into all the languages of the EU. We've actually been forced to stop taking orders from EU countries until we can get it all ironed out - but perhaps a 'silver lining' might be that if/when we can sort out some kind of 3rd party logistics arrangement for the EU, maybe that will also allow us to circumnavigate some of the worst of the import duties. Let me know how it is once you install it!! And please tell me it's going in the CW Jag ...Pacafeliz wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2024 10:32 pmMine arrived yesterday. All the best to everyone and a massive thanks again for supporting us, it's been a wild 9 months or so since Wave 1 and we have you to thank for it!! Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year

Re: Tuffset Bridge

...for now, first, i decided to try it out on the old CompStang, as it is the one with the littlest sustain/resonance, and it seems to have come more to life with this bridge. Lots of work/ time to get it RIGHT, but well worth it!

Re: Tuffset Bridge
Super dumb question, just because you posted the picture there and it reminded me...
How are the original Comp 'Stang stripes painted? Are they masked revealing the paint color below or are they painted over the main color coat?
