It’s an Aria DM-01, that was allegedly b-stock and therefore cost me about as much as an affinity series squier. It’s nice for the price. Sounds good, feels solid. Unfortunately, the neck feels really wide and the profile is quite flat, making it quite unpleasant to play anything resembling a chord above the 7th fret or so.
I was going to sell it, but then had a foolish thought. The treble corner of the heel looks a lot like the corner of a tele neck. Checking with the neck I have for the ‘72 style thinline I’ve got on the back burner, I believe a telecaster neck should fit quite well. Therefore, retrofitting a nice neck should be relatively easy, giving me a cool mongrel to bash out nirvana tracks on for less than new classic vine money.
Now I just need to find a neck and a friend with a drill…
