I'm off to a good start.
I'll be routing the splines into the face of the headstock next.

It will have a matching headstock. That will be handled by the owner. I'm just doing all the woodwork repair.
If it were mine, I would convert it into a Maverick neck, which would make a lot of sense since they were chopped up, veneered headstocks.
What's a stinger?

Like what Gibson does on the backs of some headstocks.

No. I'll be capping the back with veneer and hopefully matching the wood volute transition bit the best I can.

Splines are glued in place.
Now, I'll tidy up the sides by routing it straight and gluing maple ears to each side.
That will also give the headstock some more reinforcement.

Awesome work so far.
Just out of curiosity, how deep are the splines? It kinda makes me nervous to see nothing on the back to keep the pieces together.

The splines are about 12.5mm deep. The headstock is 15mm thick.

So nice to see the progress! You don't see XII necks with blocks and binding every day!
Do you know what colour it will end up being?
