I saw a blue 60s Jag with WRHBs a while ago and even though it was hacked about I was tempted. Pricey at the time though…

I wish I had pictures
Over the weekend I stopped by a local guitar restoration shop and in addition to a nice Gretsch and a really nice Wildwood 12-string, he was restoring a 1965 Jaguar with Pearl dots and no binding.
The deets: it was originally CAR but has been repainted several times with black being the current state. The headstock had been stripped too and it had a hand painted “Fender Jaguar” instead of a decal that was raised up like it was made with Modge Podge or something.
The body, neck, pickups and electronics are original, but it has jumbo frets now, and was hacked up for a Floyd Rose. Badly. It was off center and the high E would slip off past the 10th fret.
The Fender vibrato space was filled in with Bondo, so that had to be excavated, and the cavity and holes for the shred vibrato and locking nut as well.
There was also another hole behind the bridge for a humbucker that looked like it was made with a chisel instead of a router. The current nut looked like it was filed for all the strings to be either 38 or 50 gauge, like it was in some weird Sonic Youth tuning with the behind the bridge pickup and what he thinks is a Teisco vibrato.
So a nice, vintage Jaguar was stripped, then an attempt was made to turn it into an ‘80s shred machine, but that didn’t turn out well, so then it spent some time as a bastardized Sonic Youth type noise maker before its hopeful resurrection to a decent looking player in either Seafoam Green or Sonic Blue.

I can't see any reason to narrow it so much past the nut. I see why you'd want the nut changed (as a man who likes narrow nuts) but there's no need for the madness past that

Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

ya know what this reminded me of. ya ever seen those people that wear corsets for so long that when they take it off, they still have the hourglass figure?

^ I don't hate it, but I don't do drugs so I can't fully appreciate it, either.
And is that a price tag hanging from the toggle switch?

With a slab fretboard and clay dots. That's pre 1962
