Trem arm tips?

Post by LeftyJ » Wed Apr 02, 2025 10:38 am

The pop-in arm of my Panorama tremolo has a threaded end for the tip. The tip itself has no thread though, and is very loose. The previous owner of my Jazzmaster appears to have tried to remedy that with some sellotape around the arm, but it's not exactly very solid.
  • Are there threaded trem arm tips on the market that fit the Panorama arm? I've tried finding some, but no luck yet.
  • I'm intrigued by Mastery's aluminium UFO tip, but they make a pretty big deal of it only being compatible with their own trem arms. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks!

The tip itself isn’t threaded to my knowledge; the threads just grab onto the plastic. I suspect that the current tip is for a larger diameter arm. I think you should be able to get a standard one for an American trem, although there has been a changeup on that part recently, so YMMV.

Not that I’m doubting you, but how do you know? You would have to find one that’s brand new to confirm, right?

EDIT: I could have been a little more clear above. I guess what I’m saying is that the threads on the arm will create threads inside the tip, so you couldn’t tell from a tip that’s already been installed. All of my AVRI arms are also threaded, but the tips were not.

Hmm I just figured they were because the arm is at the tip. Why would the tip itself not be? I’ll check

This matches my experience.

0 for two lately,

I can’t tell if it’s threaded. I suspect not.

Thanks for the input! Guess I'll just order a new Fender one.
If anyone still has their 2 cents on the Mastery tips I'd be happy to hear them though! If the thread matches (or at least close enough that it can be made to fit with a layer of teflon tape) I may still pull the trigger on one or two - my Mod Shop Jaguar also has the Panorama.

I’d just send them an email and ask directly . I’ve been doing that lately for other things. It works out pretty good.

Hi Jeroen,

I am unsure if that would fit or not, you could always try?

Amanda

I ordered a UFO for my Jazzmaster, and a black "normal" one for my Jaguar, through Deimel guitars. They have them in stock, so should be fairly quick. It's a gamble, but someone on the r/offset subreddit said he'd done the same with his Panorama and had no issues so I've decided to take the plunge. Will update when I have them!
