Cioks power supplies
A few years ago I decided to go all in on Cioks power supplies. I sold my old Pedal Power 2+ and a couple T Rex units (which always did their jobs well for me) and the million mismatched cables that I had for them. I had many years of good service from those units. I now have two Cioks DC7s, 3 Cioks 4s, and an Adam. I’ve also invested in a whole bunch of extra cables for them. I’ve had nothing but GREAT experiences with them all. There are honestly zero complaints that I’ve come up with, at all. I run a couple of the 4s off of random 12 volt AC wallwarts that I mistakenly bought years ago. I run another off of a DC7 at times. All perfect. All the outlets are isolated. They have multiple different daisy chain cables for low current draw pedals like fuzzes. Having almost all outlets switchable between 9/12/15/18 volts is really nice (except the Adam). I like the low profile of them and the jacks that they use make extremely solid connections. Every feels very well made and worth the price of admission. I highly recommend them.
Now count every rhododendron in this cool mountain light, I made more mistakes than that just tonight

Re: Cioks power supplies
I have 3 myself. Two DC 5s and an Eventide-branded Powerfactor.
They have been very solid. I don’t have any big draw digital pedals though, so I can’t speak to how they do with those.
My one complaint is I wish the DC 5 used a standard IEC cable instead of the “Mickey Mouse” style which is hard to come by in a pinch.
I was skeptical about the RCA ended proprietary DC cables, but they have been fine.

Re: Cioks power supplies
Had several in the past. Currently have a DC7 and just ordered a SOL a few hours ago for my small board. Also have enjoyed years of great performance and feel utterly confident having to bring them overseas in September.
Cheers for CIOKS!

Firm agreement here. I've been running either a DC7 or Adam (depending on board size) for years and years now and they've never skipped a beat, though thousands of hours of playing and many, many gigs.
100% recommend. Best of the best IMHO.

Re: Cioks power supplies
I have the DC5 under my Nano+ board and I REALLY like it and I want to get the Sol for my regular Nano too. I put a Voodoo Labs PP3 under my Jr board because my Surfybear Compact needs 12V and nothing from Cioks (at least at the time) could support that. The PP3 is also a fine unit but I do prefer Cioks.
I'll echo all of this.marqueemoon wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 6:09 pmMy one complaint is I wish the DC 5 used a standard IEC cable instead of the “Mickey Mouse” style which is hard to come by in a pinch.

I concur. Everywhere you could possibly find yourself probably has a standard kettle lead somewhere. A C5 Cloverleaf? Not so much. This exact situation messed up one rehearsal for our bassist last year and he immediately bought 2 backupsmarqueemoon wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 6:09 pmMy one complaint is I wish the DC 5 used a standard IEC cable instead of the “Mickey Mouse” style which is hard to come by in a pinch.

Yeah. I have spare too. I should really get a second and just coil them up under each board.JSett wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 11:22 amI concur. Rock solid piece of kit. I also was skeptical about the propriety cables but it’s been some years with no issues. I did find that one of our cats chew through a couple of them. So they’re not cat proof.

Re: Cioks power supplies
I'm impressed (and can't go back).
I've been using the CIOKS Eventide-branded PowerMAX for a couple years now and it was such an upgrade from the rats nest (Kabelsalat!) of what I had previously. Streamlined everything and (importantly) took out a lot of noise! Fits under the pedal train boards with no issue. The bracket helps.
We got another one for the bass board and it's run multiple effects without issue. (Note: The reissue clone theory is still noisy. Maybe a bit less, but them's the breaks and it does seem that the static wind is a bit quieter).
I recently picked up the PowerMINI for a smaller board and realized that I probably could have used that without issue for either of the bigger boards. Way lighter and with an adapter rather than cord. (FWIW there are two versions of the PowerMINI: stand alone and "expander" or some such thing. They are exactly the same other than one coming with the adapter, $20 from Eventide.) Also: the PowerMINI has a different bracket setup, so is instead velcro'd and zip-tied to the board.
Not the most exciting use of music gear funds, but one of the most rewarding.

I have one and have been impressed. I'd like to pick up another at some point. I have a hard time remembering which model designation mine is though as it was sold as the "Pussy Power".

Re: Cioks power supplies
I've been using them for a long time, no complaints whatsoever. I used a Schizophrenic for a long time, but later downsized to an Adam to fit it under my Pedaltrain Metro. I run 7 Boss pedals off the 4 outputs (RE-2 and CE-5 on their own outputs) and it works great. Super quiet, even with the gain turned up on the amp.

I think I got the last NIB one still listed anywhere on the internet when I bought it. It was pretty hard to find.i love sharin foo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 7:19 pmThose ones were really coolI was on the fence about Al buying once but wanted to avoid the eye roll of my wife haha. I am really glad that I converted to these power supplies. I not have a bunch of cables to where I can pretty much do whatever I need to now.
