It looks decent on all of them (even the Tele), but I really like the faded stripes on the Jaguar, they looks like claw marks.

I always hate those relic finishes with opaque colours over 3TS. But something about these 3TS competition stripes coming through the black really looks great! Awesome idea.

Fender has announced the special model series "Made in Japan Fender Flagship Tokyo Editions" that will be available exclusively at Fender's flagship store "Fender Flagship Tokyo" and the official Fender online shop. The first of these models, the Jaguar, Jazzmaster, and Jazz Bass, will be released on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Unlike the regular line, the "Made in Japan Fender Flagship Tokyo Editions" are special models that can only be purchased at limited stores. Designed and manufactured with attention to detail, this collection stands out from the general public.

The first three models are all white-based and have a sophisticated look that is full of luxury, making them special guitars that bring out the individuality of the player. Not only the appearance but also the detailed specifications are thoroughly paid to, achieving excellent perfection in both playability and sound. The pickups are equipped with V-Mod Single-Coil pickups that are a unique blend of multiple types of alnico magnets. In addition to its vintage-like tone, it features a hot and punchy sound, making it suitable for a wide range of players regardless of genre.

In addition, the carefully selected ebony fingerboard is bound and features a 9.5-inch radius with medium jumbo frets to ensure comfortable playability. The neck is a Thick “C” shape with a satin finish and matching head, providing a firm grip and high operability.

That is an interesting neck spec if it applies to the Jazzmaster and Jaguar, more like the modern Hybrid II Jazzmasters but retaining the look of the Traditional Series.

Could this possibly be leading up to the refresh of the Hybrid II series since the Traditional II line got refreshed a few weeks ago?

Just checked on the Fender Japan site and it seems is a part of a Limited range that is not part of the Traditional or Hybrid series. Has an Alder body in satin poly finish, 41.02mm nut on the JM and 40mm on the Jag.

Very high price tag of 231,000 yen for both. Seems like a big premium to get the Ebony fretboard.

seems to me fender japan will only release limited editions for the time being. the only exception of production models i've seen are the hybrids.

seems to me fender japan will only release limited editions for the time being. the only exception of production models i've seen are the hybrids.

Well this is a thread about limited edition guitars after all, but they did refresh the Trad II series a short while ago and released several new models, including the Late 60s JMs and Jags.

They are beautiful, but I would reduce the size of the headstock just a tad, keeping the shape, and reducing the size of the type as well. Just looks a bit off in the balance between body and headstock to me.

Honestly even if I do like to see something new i would have preferred to see more colors that are harder to find. Like ice blue metallic or sherwood green
the gold hardware looks way over the top, it's not bad but maybe not my thing
the late 60s models are long gone by now and they were produced in really few units. i really wish we had more late 60 and 70s reissues as i really like how they look
