Other than discovering Sonic Youth or Medeski Martin and Wood, I haven’t had too many moments where I was blown away and felt like it was life-changing.
I would say the most recent was discovering the work of Devin Ocampo and his bands Faraquet, Medications and The Effects. The guy is a MONSTER. I don’t know how he sings and plays these math rock type riffs in odd timings without fucking up.
This was about 15 years ago now.

Maybe King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have been sort of influential. If not for their music, then for their prolific output level. Since I discovered them, they’ve put out 17 albums or something?
