How to get more reverb from a Peavey??

My classic 30 has an accutronics spring reverb unit which is fine but short of replacing this amp, can it be tweaked to get even more reverb or even some "drip"? I'm the little VW trying to run with the Corvettes I guess.  Any suggestions?

I guess it can be tweaked. All has to do with the circuitry it uses.
I've seen a lot off amps with the large(r) acutronics reverb pan, but not producing th ereverb a la a Twin reverb.
Basicly the fender design uses a driver and a recovery stage for the reverb, an 12at7 and a 12AX7 (I think)
I guess the Peavey Classic 30 uses a different circuit, so you wil have it's circuit rebuild I guess...
The "holy grail" of Tube reverb is the classic "Fender stand alone reverb". THis is basicly a Champ coupled with an accutronics reverb pan...so it act like a reverb pre-amp.
This works extrememly well with any low gain amp....If you want drip and tons of reverb....this is where you go. It's expensive, but I can't life without one, it's a big part of my sound.
Works really well with other pedals, even cheapo's. I usually surround the outboard reverb with behringer crap and get the sounds I want.

Or you can use an EH Holy or Holier Grail. Works pretty darn well and is a lot cheaper....(but not the same imo, if you want super warm and wet reverb, that is))

buy a used stand-alone Fender reverb reissue and replace the tube with an old-stock RCA 6K6 (cheap and plentiful, 5-10 bucks).  Voila!

people have had good luck with the VanAmps reverbs (reverbamate/solemate) on the board, myself included.  Great pedal and close to a tube reverb unit, but a bit less.

if you have any old spring reverb trays laying around, you can wire them up so there's several in series or parallel and see how that does for you... I don't know why but I've got about 3 disembodied reverb spring tanks laying around, and this sounds interesting.  In a spring reverb, I think you can add more springs to change the sound as well, but I could be wrong.

Just make sure he understands that you can't just put signal straight through a reverb tank.  You need a buffer on each end to get the signal strong enough to actually splash the strings, and then to compensate for the insertion loss at the end to bring the level back up to where it's loud enough to be amplified.  There are also impedance-matching issues, which is why reverb tanks usually have transformers on each end.  There's no free lunch where reverb is concerned, you either need a tube on each end or an op-amp or a few transistors on each end.

I'm sure you can change a few resistors or caps, but I really don't know if there are mods available on the internet.
