....it had a floating bridge...once I saw his broken string my heart sunk...I thought the same as you....then he tuned it up and went in for the second song...the sound was horrendous....oh yeah, and...his tuner broke as well (Boss TU2...2 months old!)....!!!

Does he ever pull up on the bar? He could probably manage quite happily with it screwed down against the body and bending down only.

slightly wider but not much bigger than the Boss.. it's a great tuner, I prefer it to the Strobostomp for general use

I got a TU-2 fairly cheap and so far I haven't had any of the problems I had with them in the past but I'll probably sell it for another DT-10 before I start gigging again, a little piece of mind goes a long way



anyway sorry to hear the gig didn't go that well but it's always nice to salvage a little something at the end.. tell your singer if he prefers Strats I'll happily take the '67 off his hands

Obviously I am not the person to give (and this is not the place to get) expert Strat advice, but I believe if you look under the back plate and either tighten the screws holding the springs to the body or add more springs (there are usually 3 but 5 will fit) or both then the back of bridge will rest against the body .. if a string breaks then the bridge can't go any sharper, but you can still bend downwards much like using the tremlock on a JM.

The ultimate solution would be to block the bridge, which involves shoving a doorstop-shaped bit of wood between the trem block and the wood it sits in so it can't move at all.

I'm guessing that if you do either of these then you'll need to adjust the intonation as well.

I haven't actually tried to kill my DT-10 with a stick but I doubt it would be bothered. I need a strobe tuner to do my own setups but I'm thinking of getting a Stroboflip rather than a Strobostomp as like Justin I'd probably still keep the DT-10 on a pedalboard anyway.

This may be more appropriate in its own thread in Effects, but since it's been brought up...

I suggest everyone replace their Boss TU-2s with anything else: the TU-2 only has an accuracy of up to +/-3 cents.  Even the $15 Korg GA-30 is accurate to +/-1 cent.  I have no idea why the Boss is so crappy, but pretty much every other tuner on the market is more accurate.

I've been using a TU-2 for the past few years and I'm starting to feel I'd be better off with a tuning fork on stage!

You may mock, but I think quite a few guys that use Pods regularly also use in-ear monitors.

I guess it's a convenient solution, especially if you're doing lots of cover band gigs with a wide variety of guitar sounds in a crowded city. However, I've spent the afternoon playing through a USB interface and a selection of computer-based modellers, and it sounds awful .. I'd have a hard time using digital modelling on original material that I liked, especially if I'd written it.

Still, in Zhiv's case, needs must .. good luck!
