i've been a huge fan of Elbow for 4.5 years now...
after seeing them at a small club in South Bend, IN and meeting them afterwards...
i thought Asleep in the Back was genius
containing some of my favorite songs of the past decade...
i thought Cast of Thousands was great
solid album
but didn't have quite the shot in the arm every so often like the previous album
i absolutely LOVE Leaders of the Free World
gotta love Guy's voice
"Picky Bugger" really surprised me
"McGreggor" on the extra dvd was one of those "holyshit" moments...
they actually took some chances
and looks like they had fun recording this
i think it paid off
my music purchases have slowed down drastically over the past few years
(gettin old... and broke while trying to start my own thing...)
but i'm so glad that i ordered this!
probably my favorite album of the year

Hey Alfred,
I love Elbow as well. As well as being excellent musicians and overall musos, they seem to be great people without any pretention at all.
